Nadine's gaze was calm, and her expression was cold. It was as if she were looking at a stranger when she faced Brad.
She noticed his hand clasped with Jean's and detected a hint of smugness in Jean's eyes, along with a faint sense of scheming.
But none of this mattered to her anymore.
From the moment she saw Brad entering with Jean, she had made up her mind. No matter what, she would get a divorce today so he could openly date Jean.
From now on, Brad would no longer be a part of her life.
Her heart was at peace. She didn't feel even a ripple of emotion.
Nadine had been waiting for this moment since Jean returned to the country. She had imagined Brad bringing Jean to her and firmly declaring that their marriage was over, telling her that he wanted to marry Jean.
Her heart had been aching ever since she discovered that Jean had returned.
But now, her heart was dead.
Her love for Brad had dissipated after all the torture she had gone through.
She let out a sigh.
Like an outsider, Nadine looked at the intertwined hands of Brad and Jean and smiled politely. She said gracefully, "Mr. Hamilton, congratulations on your union with Ms. Sawyer. Shall we go ahead and finalize our divorce? This way, Ms. Sawyer can marry you."
Seeing her smiling eyes and dignified attitude, Brad felt a headache creeping up on him, especially the detachment in her gaze.
At that moment, Brad suddenly realized he wasn't that important after all to Nadine.
She looked calm and gracious as ever, just like the perfect wife a man could ever ask for. She didn't throw a tantrum or quarrel with him.
Brad was momentarily at a loss for words.
Unsure what to say, he felt anxious and uncomfortable.
