Chapter 192
Sophia had always known Zachary was some kind of psycho, but she didn’t expect him to corner her like this.
She rolled her eyes and was about to speak when Dorian tugged at her skirt. “Sophia, there’s a weirdo here. He’s freaking me out.
That cracked Sophia up. “You got that right, kid. Always fun when you see creeps like him.”
Dorian bobbed his head. “Got it, Sophia. Can we leave now?”
Zachary’s eyes shifted to Dorian. That fake sweet smile never left his face, but his stare was like a shark sizing up its next meal.
Dorian looked terrified, but when he faced Zachary, he put on this sweet, innocent smile. Problem was, there was something bratty lurking underneath
Zachary noticed, and his smile grew even wider. “You know,
Wo of a kind.”
Sophia blinked, playing dumb. “Wait, are you saying you’re

Dorian nodded in agreement. “We respect your personal choice,” he said, backing Sophia up.
Zachary said with a faint smile, “You’ll come around eventually. My door is always open.”
“Yeah, that’s not happening,” Sophia flashed him a smile that made it clear she wasn’t judging him. Then she led Dorian away.
Zachary watched her walk away, that twisted grin spreading across his face like oil.
“Excuse me?” Some girl’s voice popped up behind Zachary. He spun around and found himself looking at this drop–dead gorgeous girl.
Vivienne, with a shy smile, said, “I’m so sorry, but this place is like a maze. I’m completely lost. Think you could help me out?”
Zachary saw through her little game, but instead of calling her out, he played along and offered to help.
They strolled through the gardens while Zachary turned on the charm. His voice was all velvet and honey, making Vivienne’s face go tomato red. “I’m Vivienne, by the way. What about you?”
“Zachary,” he replied.
Vivienne couldn’t take her eyes off Zachary’s pretty face. “I’m from the Monroe family in Sarelfield. Actually, our families have some history together. I’m at Jelasburg University, but I barely know anyone here. Think we could hang out sometime?”
Zachary smiled, “Oh, so you’re a Monroe. Guess that makes us cousins then. If you ever need anything, just hit me up.”
Vivienne’s eyes lit up, nearly bouncing with excitement. “Really? That’s wonderful. I hope I’m not gonna be a total pain though.”
Zachary adjusted his glasses with that smooth grin. “Not at all. I’ve got nothing but time these days.” Who

Chapter 192
“Sophia, please, you gotta help me. Your dad found that woman and now he wants to bring her home. What am I supposed to do?” Heather Gunice wa trembling on the other end, a mix of pure panic and fury.
Sophia raised an eyebrow. She thought, ‘Jonathan’s not wasting any time. He’s already planning to bring her back? Geez!
“What woman?” Sophia played dumb.
Heather spat out the name like it tasted like poison. “Mireille.”
Sophia couldn’t help but laugh. “So what if he brings her home? Relax. Jonathan told me Mireille is your cousin, and you two were as close as sisters, He’d been worried sick ever since she mysteriously disappeared.
“Honestly, sounds like he’s doing this for you. You’re probably just overthinking it.”
Heather was nearly losing it. “No. I’m not overthinking anything. They were involved before. Jonathan is lying to you. The whole story is totally different from what he’s telling you.”
Sophia cut her off. “Okay, Heather. Stop being such a drama queen. Isn’t Mireille supposed to be like family? Why are you so cold? Jonathan’s way more caring than you ever are.
“If Mireille’s doing okay, then it’s no biggie for Jonathan to bring her home
Sophia hung up and started humming some random song, feeling on top of

crash for a bit. You guys just take good care of her. I gotta go.”
Sophia had come with Charlotte, who was taking Susan back to the police station. Charlotte’d texted asking if Sophia wanted to ride along, but Sophia was busy going toe–to–toe with Margot and said no. Now, Sophia’d have to make her own way to the station. ation.
“Sophia, I’ll get the driver to take us to the police station,” Dorian said, his eyes lighting up. The kid was way too clever for his age.
Sophia was just about to nod when she remembered Evander. “Wait, what about Evander?”
Dorian shrugged it off. “He’ll figure it out. He can always hitch a ride with someone else.”
Sophia felt a micro–second of pity for Evander, then yanked open the car door and jumped in.
Heather, clearly not getting the hint, tried calling Sophia a few more times, but Sophia just swiped “ignore” on every call.
Out of options, she switched to texting: [Your dad’s feeding you lies/ He and Mireille were together.]
[They were sneaking around behind my back. I saw it with my own eyes. I swear, I’m telling the truth.]
[You knew about them all along, didn’t you? So why are you taking his side over mine?]
Sophia typed back: [Jonathan’s offering more.] She wanted Heather to know she’d side with whoever gave her more, no matter what the truth was.
