Chapter33
Felicia didn’t get angry but smiled instead. “Roger, calm down. Are you so eager to defend her because I hit the nail on the head? As for whether I have slandered Mabel or not, I think she knows best what she really thinks.”
“Felicia! How can you talk to your brother like that and slander Mabel? She has always been very caring towards you!” Edwina frowned, clearly annoyed.
Felicia raised an eyebrow and looked at the three of them coldly. “Mom, you have always been on their side from beginning to end, so everything I do is wrong in your eyes. I don’t want to waste time arguing with you. Please leave, and next time, if any one of you comes, I won’t open the door.”
Felicia invited Rashad into the apartment, leaving the three with a closed door.
“Humph, none of us will ever come looking for you again! Mom, Mabel, “Humph, none of us will ever come lo let’s go!”
Roger was furious. He was going to meet Seymour soon and didn’t care if Felicia would be dumped.
He knew Mabel had always wanted to marry Seymour.
Seymour and Felicia getting a divorce would be the best outcome. After that, Mabel would surely be able to marry Seymour smoothly.
Mabel acted coyly and tried to calm Roger, “Roger, don’t be angry with
Licia.”
Edwina, feeling anxious, was supported by Mabel as they walked down the stairs. She paused and asked, “Do you think Felicia has made up her mind to divorce Seymour? Is that man truly her divorce lawyer?”
Edwina did not want Felicia to divorce Seymour, because this meant that the Pruitt family would sever their connection to the Lucero family.
“Mom, don’t worry. Felicia has always deeply loved Seymour. She wouldn’t divorce him! That man is probably just an actor she hired to act for us, to make us persuade Seymour and get him to appease her.
“She’s just playing hard to get!”
Roger casually pointed to a curbstone by the road. “Mom, if she divorces. Seymour, I will eat this curbstone!”
Mabel thought for a moment, and then said, “Mom, that man seemed unfamiliar. When did Felicia get to know him?”
Roger was stunned, then sneered coldly, “If Felicia dares to cheat on Seymour and bring shame to the Pruitt family, I will have to kick her out of our family!”
Edwina said, “No, Licia wouldn’t do such a thing. Alright, let’s wait until Licia recovers fully and comes back to have a good talk with her then.”
Roger curled his lip. Hadn’t Edwina seen how arrogantly Felicia chased them away just now?
He would never return to this unpleasant place to endure Felicia’s arrogance again!
Once they had left, Felicia’s face showed a mix of embarrassment and apology. “Mr. Pineda, I’m sorry about what just happened. What brings you here today?”
Rashad smiled slightly and handed over the documents, “I left in a hurry
the other day and your personal documents got stuck in that pile of documents.”
“Ah, those documents were with you the whole time. Thank you. I was about to get them reissued,” Felicia smiled gently.
Rashad noticed a trace of worry on her forehead and gently reassured her. “Ms. Pruitt, everything will pass.”
Felicia smiled bitterly, “Yes, everything will pass.”
The sun would rise as usual, and tomorrow’s sunlight might be even brighter.
After leaving Felicia’s apartment, Roger went to the Lucero Group to meet Seymour.
Seymour was reviewing documents in the office. Seeing Roger come in, he raised his eyebrows and asked, “What brings you here?”
Roger pulled over a chair and sat down abruptly. “Just mentioning this irritates me. Yesterday, my dad insisted that we go see Felicia.”
