SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God novel Chapter 110

Chapter 110: Run

After Damon made the call, Mark arrived there soon enough. He took the name plate off the car and drove here, hoping that he would not be caught by a cop. Thankfully, luck was on their side tonight.

Damon had already moved quite a distance away from the scene of the crime, and the chances of this car’s video surveillance on the streets being linked to that brutal slaughter were slim. Or at least he wanted to think so.

Damon knew it was a fool’s errand to try and hide after all of this. The only thing that he could now realistically hope for was time. In fact, ever since he broke Kate out of the hospital, he knew this day was going to come sooner or later, and now, because of these circumstances, they were here already.

They needed to run. Tonight. They needed to disappear to some corrupt third-world country where they could peacefully blend in and hide for a while at least until the damned doomsday begins.

Several thoughts crossed Damon’s mind, and several plans unfolded in quick succession, each more desperate than the last. He weighed identities, borders, cash reserves, and connections, most of which were laughably thin.

The moment he’d spilled that much blood, there was no returning to a quiet life. Not in this city. Ultimately, everything was going to change drastically. Their lives were going to become a lot more complicated now.

Someone like Hector didn’t just vanish without consequence. There’d be syndicates, maybe even politicians, digging through ashes.

Mark stopped the car and opened the trunk wordlessly. Damon helped him move the unconscious woman into the back seat, gently, like she might shatter at any sudden jolt. Her breathing was shallow but stable. She hadn’t stirred once.

"She really didn’t sell us out," Mark muttered, eyes fixed ahead.

"I know," Damon replied.

Mark gripped the wheel tighter. "I still don’t forgive her."

"You don’t have to," Damon said quietly. "Just don’t let that be your chain. I did not do all of this for her. I did it for you both."

Silence fell again as the car rolled back onto the street. The city was calm, deceptively so. But Damon knew this peace was thin, fragile, fake. Their lives as they knew it had already ended. Now, they had to move before the world caught on.

"We’ll need cash. New names. Somewhere off-grid but with electricity." Damon muttered.

Mark nodded. "How fast can we leave?"

Damon exhaled. "Right this second."

The two silently sat in the car as Mark quietly drove through the streets. They finally arrived at a destination, a government rehab center.

Damon didn’t say a word as they gently set her down on the cold concrete steps outside the government rehab center’s emergency intake wing. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was functional

They dropped her outside and left the area immediately.

"Are you sure about this?" Damon asked Mark again. After all, it did not feel good leaving her alone, helpless, and vulnerable like this, beaten so much that barely an inch of her life was left.

"Yes." Mark nodded. "You have already done above and beyond for me. Even if you wanted to risk more than this for her sake, I don’t want to. Our lives have already become complicated thanks to her. Now this is self-preservation. I have Kate to think about, and you have your parents to think about. Let’s leave. If she survives, she survives. Otherwise..."

Damon nodded. He did not force him anymore. "Let’s go and get Kate."

"She is already packing bags," Mark said as he replaced the nameplate on the car and drove back to the apartment complex.

Meanwhile, Damon had other headaches. How the hell was he going to pack up his family? His mother would probably be the easiest. She was always ready to pack a bag for vacation in some place, and the timing couldn’t be any more perfect.

He quickly opened his phone to check, and voila, the announcement of exchanging ingame coins to dollars was only just made, a few hours ago. The entire internet was in an uproar because of this, and the game’s popularity was skyrocketing through the roof.

Damon’s lips twitched. "Well, talk about timing."

If he converted a bunch of gold coins and showed his parents his new bank account balance, they would jump in joy and come for what bullshit vacation he names. He could then break the news to them slowly.

The real problem was his holier-than-thou elder brother and his almighty wife. His brother had never supported him all his life, and even in his last life, when he had lost everything, he had only blamed him and yelled at him for being so foolish in his life decisions.

He knew convincing that bastard was going to be very difficult, but he was going to try his damnedest best. Maybe if he mentioned an all-inclusive and all-fully paid trip, his sister-in-law might jump on the opportunity. freeweɓnovel.cøm
