Bloodreign remained silent for a bit, and then she spoke up. "What rumors have you been listening to? You need to be at least a Blood Lord to turn someone into a vampire."
Damon nodded. He already knew this but he was still very nervous. He ran a hand through his hair, eyes locked on the crimson-soaked earth at his feet. This was good. There shouldn't be any more problems from that woman. Clearly, she doesn't remember anything and there shouldn't be any changes in her body.
Now the only other question was how long could he go without blood.
He swiped away the bunch of system notifications that informed him about the experience points gained for killing the rabid hounds along with the couple of agility and strength stat points.
They had also given him another skill.
[Berserk Instinct - Passive]
Berserk Instinct: When your bloodlust reaches a critical threshold, your physical stats increase by 20% for a short duration. Duration scales with kill count. Warning: Mental clarity may be compromised during activation.
This was the innate skill of Dire hounds which made them somewhat deadly when encountered in big packs. However, this skill was a double-edged sword as it also made the beasts extremely easy to trick and kill.
To Damon this skill could come in handy in many ways but he did not have the time to think about these things at the moment. He simply cleared all the notifications. Bloodreign was right. He needed to figure some things out in the game world before everything fell apart in the real world.
As far as he could see only he seemed to have awakened in the real world. There was no need for him to panic about this. This was not a bad thing. This could be a very good thing if he managed to get everything under his control.
He of all people knew how ruthless the world could be. As soon as one lost their footing, the world wouldn't hesitate to push them further down, all the way to the rock bottom and still continue to step on them.
And Damon had already lived that once. He could only imagine how the new world would be. With magic and super powers and monsters openly roaming about in the world, there was no telling what would become of the current world order. It was definitely going to be a shit show.
But somehow he had a chance to get ahead of this shitshow. He shouldn't let that go to waste no matter the cost. Only this way he would be able to protect himself and those who truly mattered to him.
Damon clenched his fists in determination. He was going to use this opportunity to the fullest that he can. For that he needed to run some tests. The first thing he needed to check was how long he could last without feeding.
He checked the time. He had killed the rabid hounds roughly fifteen minutes ago. He was clear headed now and he had to check how long he could keep this up. It was a good time to get done with his world boss quest.
He debated a couple of seconds between logging out first, figuring out some way to get human blood, versus finishing his world boss quest. While the former was extremely important for his real life to not blow up, the latter was important to stabilize his bloodline.
In the end, he decided to go with the quest. Strengthening his bloodline might help with his issue in real life, so it seemed like the best option at the moment.
Without any hesitation, Damon walked into the city. For a moment, he was nervous. Would his identity be exposed? After all, he had only just now created a huge uproar with his awakening. He was not sure how effective Bloodreign's cloaking was.
