Chapter 460: Oriana’s Hobbies

Oriana entered the living room where the Royal teacher awaited her, accompanied by two servants from the Queen’s palace. With a graceful gesture, they all bowed in deference to the Crown Princess.

"Your Highness, allow me to introduce Lady Sarin, the Royal teacher for women in the royal family. She also had the honor of instructing Princess Alvera," the Queen’s servant declared.

Oriana acknowledged the introduction with a subtle nod and directed her gaze towards Sarin. I believe I will be a good student to you," she remarked.

Sarin perceived Oriana’s politeness, despite a veneer of pride. "I will endeavor to impart my best, Your Highness. However, your natural grace is evident, and it seems there is little I need to teach."

After the brief exchange, Oriana took her seat.

"Today’s lesson focuses on Etiquette and Social Graces," the teacher elaborated. "Given the approaching wedding and the imminent need for Your Highness to engage with various individuals, this lesson holds particular significance."

The instructional session extended beyond an hour, covering diverse topics such as appropriate behavior in social settings, interacting with dignitaries and guests, and representing the royal family with poise and grace.

Oriana, sharp and quick to comprehend, absorbed the teachings swiftly, finishing ahead of schedule. With other pressing matters vying for her attention, she aimed to allocate time efficiently.

"Your Highness, your performance today was truly commendable," the teacher praised, and unanimous nods followed.

In response, Oriana simply hummed, expressing acknowledgment without unnecessary elaboration.

"Your Highness, there are guests awaiting your presence," the Queen’s servant informed. "Her Majesty has arranged for them to be your companions, female friends to accompany you."

"Female companions?" Oriana inquired, admitting that she had never had friends, with Luke being the sole exception.

"Yes, Your Highness. It’s crucial for you to have friends here, given the important role they play in your life. Being new and unfamiliar with everyone, having friends will facilitate your navigation through social gatherings. While many may surround you, having close friends holds greater value," the Queen’s servant elucidated. "These young ladies are the daughters of esteemed families from the capital and are close to the royal family."

"Daughters of esteemed families?" Oriana rose abruptly, causing a slight stir among the others. "Very well, send them to accompany me as I visit the Crown Princess’ palace."

Oriana had no intention of investing excessive time in these social encounters, as she was preoccupied with the task of exploring her new residence. Although she harbored no plans of an extended stay, she was mindful not to cause any offense to the Queen.

Stepping out of the drawing room, Oriana encountered a group of women, led by four young, beautiful individuals, each attended by two servants.

Among the four, Oriana recognized two familiar faces. Erin Ahren, from the Ahren family, whom she had met during her visit to Luke, and Evie Clarence, the sister of Arthur.

They all bowed respectfully to Oriana. "Greetings, Your Highness."

Oriana acknowledged with a nod, sensing the scrutinizing gaze of the other two young women examining her from head to toe. Unfazed, Oriana turned to Evie and remarked, "Our paths cross again."

"I am honored to be here to accompany you, Your Highness," Evie replied with utmost politeness.

Oriana glanced at Erin, pondering if she would recognize her even with the veil on her face, but Erin exhibited no signs of familiarity, much to Oriana’s relief.

"I am Erin Ahren, Marquise Ahrens’ daughter," Erin introduced herself, prompting Oriana to respond with a friendly smile.

Katherin and Anelisa, the other two, also introduced themselves, and Oriana reciprocated with polite acknowledgments. She then informed them, "I am going to visit my newly prepared residence. I believe you ladies wouldn’t mind accompanying me there."

"We would be delighted, Your Highness," Katherin responded.

"Certainly, Your Highness," added Anelisa.

Both seemed surprised that Evie was acquainted with the Crown Princess and had a favorable impression on Oriana. They didn’t wish to left behind and wished get closer to the Crown Princess.

"Royal teacher," Anelisa inquired, "are you here for the Crown Princess?"

"Yes," the teacher confirmed.

"It’s important for the Crown Princess to be well-informed about everything as a member of the royal family," Katherin remarked.

Curious about the day’s lessons, Anelisa asked the teacher, "What did you teach the Crown Princess today?"

Oriana, growing impatient due to time constraints, interjected, "How not to waste time when holding a royal position."

Oriana was getting impatient as she needed to finish it all quickly but these two noble girls were adamant on chitchatting.

Having picked up on Oriana’s subtle cues, Katherin and Anelisa fell into a contemplative silence. Oriana strode ahead, with Erin and Evie trailing behind, while Katherin and Anelisa followed a step back, their displeasure evident at not having left a favorable impression on the Crown Princess.

As they walked, Katherin and Anelisa engaged in hushed whispers.
