Xyron remained quiet, making it unable to see what was he thinking about her and what she said.
Oriana realized this demon was up to answering all the important questions she needed to ask. "Hmm, tell me why I am weaker than him now?"
"My lady, you lost your powers when you sacrificed yourself to protect the demon realm from being destroyed by the gods. A great part of your powers is preserved in the shield around the demon realm which makes you lack your true strength. Also, this human body you are reincarnated in makes you weaker as it could not contain whatever existing powers you possess at this moment. You cannot use them to their full extent, or your human body would fall apart."
Unafazed, she asked, "How can I solve this and regain my powers and use them without any trouble?"
"You have to stay in the demon realm and cultivate your human body to the demonic form."
"How long will it take?"
"It takes half the lifetime of someone’s life. Cultivation is not easy."
"I don’t have that much time," she frowned. "I don’t have that much patience to stay away from my husband." She realised, how much she was already missing him. For his sake, she would abandon anything in this world. Nothing mattered but him.
There was a silence for a while before Oriana thought about some more things to ask.
"Be honest and tell me another way if you still consider me your princess and respect my father, the previous ruler."
She wanted to try, and if it worked, then all was fine. But would this demon show loyalty to this weak princess and disregard his current master?
The demon, who had kept his head lowered until now, raised it to look at her. His dark eyes showed no malice, but they had no emotions either, just as suited to the general of any army.
"My Lady, do you really want to regain your powers? Then, would you willingly stay in the demon realm?" he asked, as if he had something in mind.
"Do you really want your princess to return and rule over this realm once more?" Oriana wished to check the depth of his wishes.
He didn’t reply yes or no, but answered her previous question. "If you break that shield around the demon realm, you will regain the power you gave up to form that shield."
His answer made her realise this demon truly wants her back as the princess of this realm. Was he not happy with the current lord? Seems like it.
"And how am I going to break it?" she asked.
"Soulreaver," he answered.
"What is it?"
"It’s the name of your sword that you used to wield."
"Sword? I used to wield a sword?" she asked in surprise. Remembering her lessons with Rafal, all she could think was that she had never touched a sword in any of her lifetimes. She was that bad with a sword.
"You were one of the most skilled sword wielders in all three realms," Xyron replied, taking her by utter surprise. "Only the god of war could surpass you in the past."
’What the hell? Am I hearing things on my own?’
"With your sword skills and the power of absolute darkness, you were as good as invincible," he added.
"If I get my sword, will everything be solved?"
"I believe so."
"Where can I find it?"
"No one has ever seen Soulreaver after you were gone," he answered. "Lord Tharzimon searched for it to get it for himself, as it is said to be one of the most powerful swords, crafted in the depths of hell with absolute darkness, but we could not find it."
"Then how can I get it?"
"Such swords have their own soul, and once they have devoted themselves to their master, they are only loyal to them. That must be the reason we could not find it. When the master and sword are connected by souls, part of the master’s power is connected to that sword as well. When you wield it, you become more powerful than ever."
