646.Chapter 646
“He’s a fake,” Gabriel cried out, refusing to admit it. Still on his knees, he lowered his head and said vehemently, “Your Majesty, the world is vast. Surely, strange sorcery that could change one’s appearance exists. If I had an illegitimate child, I’d know better than anyone, wouldn’t I?
“That boy is definitely a fake! How could I possibly acknowledge someone as my son just because of a passing resemblance?”
‘Fake or not, that child was supposed to be dead, and that should’ve been the end of it. Even if he had somehow survived, I could never acknowledge him as my son. If I did, everything I’d worked so hard for would be destroyed, Gabriel thought.
Rafe’s eyes widened in disbelief. ‘Well, well. He’s not going to own up to it, is he? I’m standing right here with this face. It’s plain for all to see. Yet, he still has the nerve to deny it? Passing resemblance? We’re practically identical–we could pass for twins!‘
Gabriel could keep lying through his teeth, but Rafe wasn’t about to back down. He knew who his father was, and he wasn’t going to let Gabriel off the hook.
Putting on a wounded expression, Rafe cried, “Father, how can you say such a thing? Just look at my face. I’m your son! If we weren’t father and son, how could we possibly look so alike? If you don’t believe me, touch it yourself. My face is absolutely real. It’s
not sorcery.”
Rafe turned to the other officials in court, rubbing his cheeks as he said, “Hey, you over there! Take a look. And you too, come pinch it. Help me prove this face is real. If you still don’t believe me, then why not chop off my head and see for yourself?”
Then, he darted over to the civil officials, grabbing two at random to inspect his face up close, before dashing over to the military generals, stretching his head out to let them feel for themselves.
In the end, he even strode toward the King seated at the throne. “Your Majesty, how about you-?”
“Get back here,” Eliza snapped.
‘Does he have a death wish? He can’t just waltz up to the King like that,’ Eliza thought.
Rafe scurried back to Eliza’s side, muttering, “Father keeps calling me a fake. I can’t just let that slide.”
Eliza shot him a sharp glare. “Stop making a scene in front of His Majesty!”
Magnus chuckled, clearly entertained by Gabriel’s illegitimate son, whom Eliza had found. “No harm done,” he said. “It’s a small matter. I won’t take offense.

“Nevertheless, I suppose Gabriel does make a fair point. So, Theodore, Percival, Julius, and Alaric, you all had a good look at Rafe. Tell me, is his face and head real?”

Magnus was addressing the officials whom Rafe had approached earlier. For some reason, Theodore shot Gabriel a contemptuous glare.
It seemed he was repelled by Gabriel’s true colors, realizing he had been made a fool. Without hesitation, he replied bluntly, “Your Majesty, I’ve seen him. His face is most certainly real,”
With Theodore taking such a firm stance, the other ministers exchanged uneasy glances. After sneaking a look at Gabriel, they nodded.
“Your Majesty, I can confirm it’s real,” Percival said. “His bone structure is completely
