Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 1062

Bernard arrived on time to pick up Dora at 8:30 pm. At that moment, everyone at Eli's house had just finished dinner and were clearing the dishes away.

Dora didn't want to go home yet, seeing that Gideon had no intention of leaving anytime soon. However, Bernard was against that idea. "If you don't go back on time, you can't come out at night anymore."

Dora could only obediently follow him out. Before leaving, she whispered in Eli's ear, "Watch over my Uncle Gideon and your mom!"

Eli nodded. "Okay, I will." He would remind them to talk more and spend more time together.

Bernard frowned upon seeing the two lean so close to each other. He quickly dragged Dora away and began to lecture her on the way home.

"Dora, you're already ten years old. It's time you keep your distance from boys. You can't get so close to the other boys however you like, just like you did when you were younger."

Dora was slightly displeased. "Daddy, you set your eyes on Mommy when you were still very young.

Bernard didn't think he did anything wrong. "I'm a man, but you're just a girl. It's not the same. Girls are easily at a disadvantage."

Dora refused to listen and scoffed. "You're acting like a tyrant who can do whatever he pleases while expecting everyone to follow the rules!"

Her response left Bernard speechless.

Meanwhile, Eli helped Amelia bring the dishes to the kitchen before coming out to accompany Gideon for a chat. After washing the dishes, Amelia sliced some fruits and brought them out from the kitchen.

Eli explained that he still had homework and returned to his room. That left the living room empty for Amelia and Gideon to spend some time together alone.

"Don't you have to work tonight?" Gideon asked while glancing at the time.

"I took leave," Amelia replied.
