"It hurts so much."
Zayn leaned against the sofa while clutching his arm, hissing in pain.
Josephine didn't know what to do. "Why don't I get you some ice to put over it?"
"Do you think I can put ice over the cast?"
"What should we do?" Josephine frowned. "Why don't we go to the hospital? What if the bone has fractured again?"
Zayn sneered. "Isn't that what you want? After all, all you think about is how to murder your husband."
Josephine was speechless.
Now that his arm was hurting, he was certainly in a bad mood. He was just venting his anger at her.
She decided it was best if she kept quiet to avoid angering him further.
After a moment, he muttered, "I only had a piece of bread in the morning. I planned to have lunch elsewhere, but when I saw the news you posted, it pissed me off so much that I lost my appetite.
"I looked for Nadine right away and questioned her. Once I got your address, I came looking for you.
"What time is it? I haven't even eaten anything—"
Josephine interrupted his mumbling. "What do you want to eat? I'll ask Gloria to cook for you."
"I don't want to eat someone else's cooking. Why don't you cook for me? I want to eat your signature bacon and pancakes."
Was he actually asking her to cook? The audacity.
However, seeing how pale he was, Josephine recalled how she hadn't visited him at the hospital. In the end, she walked into the kitchen.
The truth was that she didn't enjoy cooking. She only knew how to make a few dishes.
In the past, when things were great between them, she wanted to cook for the man she loved.
So, she learned a few dishes from a chef.
Out of all of them, Zayn liked the bacon and pancakes the most. It wasn't because they were delicious, but because everything else she cooked was disastrous.
