When Petals Meet The Blade (Priscilla and Waldo) novel Chapter 287

Chapter 287

Scars!

A distinct burn scar marked Leon’s arm.

Jessica felt a lump in her throat. She thought, I never cry easily, yet right now I’m so overwhelmed that tears nearly escape

Those lost memories slowly returned, and she finally saw the boy’s face in the raging fire.

His face, though blackened by smoke, remained clear, elegant, and handsome,

It was him. It truly was him!she thought, stunned.

The memories in her mind were finally unearthed, little by little.

It was him. He was the one who held her in his arms, feeding her medicine spoon by spoon.

He coaxed her softly, saying, Come on, I’ll drink with you. I’ll finish what you don’t, and we’ll share the yucky taste.”

The medicine she left behind was just the bitter dregs at the bottom of the cup, but he always kept his word. He swallowed every last drop without complaint.

Even though what he drank was far more bitter and harder to swallow than hers, he did it with pure delight, simply because his little Jessie had obediently finished her medicine.

Back then, Jessica spent her days in a daze, but she was still aware that Leon was often not by her side.

Whenever he was gone, she would be gripped by panic and fear, terrified of everyone around her. She refused to take her medicine and wouldn’t even

eat.

Every time Leon returned, it was always in a rush. Sometimes, Jessica thought she caught the metallic tang of blood on him, but she felt too unwell to understand or pay attention.

He would come back to feed her medicine, spoon her porridge, and lull her to sleep. He always held her hands until she drifted off. Once, she woke up in the middle of the night and, not seeing him, burst into frightened tears. Leon came to her side immediately.

After that, he kept vigil by her bedside every night. No matter when she woke up, she would always find him sleeping on the chaise lounge nearby.

She said, I’ll marry you when I grow up.

He must have smiled, gently patting her head as he said, I’ve been waiting for my little Jessica to grow up.

Only then did she realize how long he had been waiting for her. So long

Jessica closed her eyes briefly to hide the tears welling up in them.

Leon remained focused on the raging fire, completely unaware of the emotional turmoil Jessica was experiencing beside him.

Soon after, Magnus returned and reported, No suspicious individuals in the perimeter.

Watch her! Don’t let her go in!Leon pushed Jessica toward Magnus.

With no suspicious individuals around, Leon knew there would be no more attacks using a thunder grenade. Now he could go in to rescue people himself.

But Jessica instinctively reached out and grabbed Leon’s sleeve, as if unwilling to let him go.

Chapter 287-

In that split second hesitation, someone rushed in ahead of the others.

Garbischt Jessica cried out in alarm, moving to follow him inside.

Leon yanked her back forcefully once more.

I’ll go in with Garbisch. You’re delicate. The smoke and flames will scorch your skin. Stay put! Then Leon pushed Jessica toward Magnus and strode inside in one long step.
