Inside the sphere, Garan was holding out against two elementalists with higher levels than him. By this time, only Vara and Feller remained standing. The rest easily became collateral damage in the battle of elites early on.

Inside the circle, stepping on the ground was like a freezing death sentence, particularly to non-elementalists. And, even for the elementalists, stepping carelessly into Garan’s field consumed energy.

So at first, Vara was focused on creating platforms for himself (which the others took advantage of) while the enemy was focused on dealing with the dozen or so people before him.

This could also work to weaken him. Vara wasn’t fond of a challenge. He enjoyed lording over an enemy who was helpless, and he had no qualms with dealing with a weakened enemy.

The mana upkeep for this large sphere must’ve been immense! He didn’t know how he created it—he theorized it must’ve been some sort of unknown City-level tool—but Vara didn’t believe he was invincible!

Theoretically speaking, he must be tired, running out of mana and spirit, with limited defenses! At the very least, they knew the protection charms he had on him had already been broken by the earlier mobbing!

However, he wouldn’t have expected those useless bastards to be so useless against him! He let them use his metallic platforms that had sprung from the cold soil, expecting them to cause damage.

However, the bastard summoned ice spikes too, and he harvested a few within the first few minutes! One had to know many of these people had similar levels to him! freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Fortunately, they had the advantage of numbers. Even counting the ice spikes, a few people did manage to get past through the field created by the spikes, raising their good weapons directly at Garan.

However, even if the weapon got in direct contact with Garan’s skin, that part of his body would suddenly be enveloped by sturdy ice, shielding him. At the worse case, if the weapon’s quality was below others’, it would even start to freeze as well, making it difficult to pull out.

In those cases, while the person tried to pull his weapon—even if it was just a second—the distraction was enough for their fall. A blink later, Garan’s hand appeared in front of his face, and ice spikes emerged from his palm.

SQUELCH!

"AHHH!"

The man could only gasp as the spike went straight through his eyes and through his brain. He flopped down helplessly to the ground, lifeless, a second later.

All these were superior techniques that would consume a lot of mana. The more Vara saw, the more confused he was. Surely, he didn’t have unlimited mana? That was impossible. So there must be a catch.

This went on for several more minutes, with more and more of them succumbing. Vara would also slash away and so would Feller, both of whom were trying to find weak points, but ended up with none.

While their teammates lost their lives, Vara and Feller gained more and more wounds on their bodies and their pride.

They were dealing with a person several levels lower than they were—and they couldn’t take him down even after teaming up!

Unconsciously, their attacks became more and more frantic, and it was obvious.

To be honest, Garan himself wasn’t certain what was happening. He was not entirely himself at the moment.
