Leonardo stared at the steak on the table and was lost in thought. Meanwhile, Samantha was already digging in.
It was supposed to be a great steak, but they totally ruined it. Even after cutting it, it didn't look appetizing.
Suddenly, Samantha thought about the steak Layla cooked last time, and it was cooked just right. Just looking at it made her mouth water, and it was such a huge difference from this one.
Leonardo poked at the steak with his fork. He hadn't cooked steaks before, but he'd eaten plenty. Yet he'd never seen one turn out this poorly. "How about we just forget about it?"
She moved the piece she'd cut in front of him. "Come on. It's your first time cooking, and you've done pretty well. I've got to give you some credit. Honestly, the steak can't be that bad."
He looked at the steak in front of him and eventually grabbed his fork to take a bite. The flavor was decent, but it was a bit hard and greasy. Still, he ate the whole thing out of courtesy.
After finishing the steaks, they quickly cleaned up the kitchen and dining room.
Samantha was about to head back to her room to shower and rest when Leonardo suddenly reminded her, "Make sure to come to my room after your shower."
She immediately looked at him warily. "What are you up to?"
"Did you forget you're supposed to tell me a bedtime story?"
"Are you serious?"
Leonardo raised an eyebrow. "Wasn't it you who insisted on telling me one?"
He framed it like he wasn't interested in the bedtime story, but Samantha twisted his arm to make him listen to it.
She didn't dare to turn him down because his moods were unpredictable. He might look okay now, but she was afraid that if she didn't go along with it, he'd lose it. "Got it. I'll be there."
