Leonardo smiled after getting scolded. He just couldn't help but stir things up.
When the meeting was about to end, Leonardo was bombarded with messages from Laura.
Laura: "If you're not into Yvette, then what about Elena? Aren't you all in a meeting now?"
Laura: "I heard Elena is sweet and obedient, so she's easy to deal with. A woman like her wouldn't mind you being divorced. After marriage, you can do whatever you want, and she won't complain."
Laura: "Just follow my advice. Only a woman with a solid background can truly help you. Don't get fooled by Samantha's beauty."
Furrowing his brows, he deleted every message Laura sent before texting his reply. He asked, "Is this how you're supposed to teach your son?"
After that, Laura continued to spam him with messages, forcing him to switch on the "Do Not Disturb" mode. Then, he ignored everything else that she sent.
The meeting went on for hours and didn't wrap up until after midnight. The executives and board members started heading out of the meeting room.
Stretching, Simon invited Leonardo, "How about grabbing a late-night snack later, Mr. Garrett?"
"Count me out." Leonardo grabbed his blazer and stood up.
Simon quickly followed up. "You haven't had dinner yet. Since you didn't eat anything, aren't you hungry?"
Leonardo responded, "Well, I need to head home."
"You can still grab a snack and make it home in time, right?" came Simon's question.
"Just piss off, will you?"
Simon couldn't shake the feeling that he was like a hurt, neglected wife. He kept thinking Leonardo was a heartless jerk and an absolute scumbag.
Yet, it only got worse.
"I'll drive myself home," came Leonardo's words. "Just go on with whatever you were doing."
Simon was surprised. "What? We came here together."
"See you," muttered Leonardo.
