Samantha thought the whole thing was pretty ridiculous.
She kept her head down, looking like she'd just been caught doing something wrong. She twisted her hands nervously together.
At the red light, Leonardo brought the car to a stop. He tapped his fingers idly on the steering wheel, each dull thud adding to the tension in the car.
Then, he turned to glance at Samantha. It had only been a few days, but she looked thinner. She was already skinny to begin with, not an ounce of fat on her, and still let herself end up like this.
Just as he was about to speak, he noticed the bandage on her forehead. He asked, "What happened to your forehead?"
Samantha instinctively reached up to touch it but winced in pain and quickly pulled her hand back. It had only been a few days, so it hadn't fully healed yet.
But since it involved Laura and Yara, she didn't want to upset the harmony in Leonardo's family. Besides, she probably wasn't the one he cared about anyway, so it was better to downplay it all.
She said instead, "I bumped into something by accident."
"How did you even manage that? Are you silly?" Leonardo asked.
"Most probably." Surprisingly, Samantha didn't argue. She stared blankly out the window at the streetlights, her eyes tinged with a lonely sadness.
Leonardo looked at her, puzzled when she looked rather hurt.
Just as he was about to ask, the car behind them honked impatiently. The light had turned green, and Leonardo had no choice but to drive on.
It had been a while since they last saw each other, and while on the plane, there had been so much he wanted to say to her. But now, he couldn't even come up with the words.
The car was silent. It felt like they were both holding back.

Back in Phantom Lounge, many women approached Simon and asked for his contact. While he politely showed them the QR code for his Instagram, ireality, he didn't accept any of the requests.
Then, a man appeared at the entrance of the nightclub. It was Ethan. Simon quickly snapped a photo with his phone and sent it to Leonardo, then went back to waiting.
