Madeline was at the top of the leaderboard.

Liliana was in second place, while Serena ranked third.

Samantha hovered between fourth and fifth. She had trended on social media before, which gave her a bit of an edge in terms of popularity—at least compared to complete unknowns. However, she couldn't quite compare to the celebrities.

Chione stepped off the stage with a less-than-pleasant expression. She knew her performance had been average at best. What really bothered her, however, was her conviction that Samantha had arrived with one of the judges.

She was convinced that some sleazy older guy had taken a special interest in Samantha. That would explain the special treatment she received.

However, there were only five people on the judging panel—three women and two men. One of them was Leonardo. The other man was a senior executive from Evergreen—mid-30s and also good-looking.

Chione just couldn't imagine Samantha getting involved with either of those men. So, she managed to convince herself that maybe she'd seen it wrongly, or Samantha had simply come in through the wrong entrance.

Either way, there was no way Samantha was involved with either one of them. Otherwise, Chione would only feel more bitter.

The first few candidates who took the stage didn't stir much excitement. A few managed to catch some attention, but none posed any real threat to the top of the leaderboard.

Then came Liliana. She walked out in a flowing red dress with a deep V-neckline. The hem swayed gently with each step.

Although she tried to come off as sultry and elegant, it wasn't her strength. She didn't have the figure for it and lacked the natural presence to pull it off.

It was a far cry from her usual image, too. No one knew whose idea it had been—or if it was hers.

At the end of the runway, Liliana struck a confident pose and flashed a dazzling smile.

The judges remained expressionless as they punched in their scores.
