Selina was honestly shocked sometimes by how thick Angelica’s skin could be.
Luke was stunned. "No way, no way—some people really have zero shame, huh? You really think Logan wants you to have that baby because he cares? Girl, he needs you to have it so he can prove it’s not his!"
Angelica said weakly, "Forget it. I know you’re upset, but facts are facts. My child will be his firstborn, his heir. We’re all women—I understand how you feel."
Like she was being the bigger person or something.
Luke scoffed. "Oh, spare me. Don’t drag the entire female population down with you. Are you even a woman? I don’t think you qualify as human. Has Logan ever even looked at you like that? When are you gonna stop hallucinating? Look, I get it—you want to be the mistress, fine. But lying to yourself? That’s just sad."
Aunt Morris sneered. "Since when can some nobody talk to our Angelica like that? Mr. Reid clearly—"
Luke cut in, unfazed by the crowd. "Oh hey, if it isn’t Mrs. Morris! I didn’t recognize you at first—my bad, really. I always assumed you were in your thirties. Didn’t expect a face that’s pushing sixty. Must be my poor eyesight."
Aunt Morris was livid. "You—you—!"
Angelica, irritated with Luke, bit her lip and turned to Selina. "Selina, do we really need to cause a scene? It’s not good for either of us."
Luke jumped in. "Oh, I think it’s fine. You know, scenes just highlight whoever’s the most shameless. Angelica seems pretty self-aware—respect."
Angelica’s face twisted—she knew that jab was aimed at her.
Aunt Morris charged in. "How dare you blame Angelica! She hasn’t eaten or slept in days! Selina, if you had a shred of decency, you’d file for divorce already!"
Selina casually tucked her hair behind her ear and said lazily, "You’re really something, Mrs. Morris. I heard a little celeb’s been all over your husband lately? On her behalf—thank you. Following your logic, if someone likes your husband, you should just step aside, right?"
The whole place fell silent.
Aunt Morris’s chest heaved. Her face twisted with fury, fingers trembling as she pointed at Selina, about to lose her mind.
Angelica stepped up, putting on an innocent act. "Selina, whatever beef there is, it’s between us. Don’t take it out on others."
She leaned in close, whispering by Selina’s ear:
"Sweet Selina, I’m saying this for your own good. Just divorce him, or what happened four years ago... might happen again."
Selina’s head snapped up.
Angelica’s face twisted in a cruel smile. "I really didn’t want to kill you, you know. But you just wouldn’t get out of my way. I used a knife on your neck—it was so dull, I had to slice and slice just to hit your artery. You were trembling all over, couldn’t even scream, blood was everywhere..."
"I actually felt bad for you. But if you won’t back off..."
Suddenly, Angelica gasped, stumbled back, and switched back into her helpless act. "Selina, please don’t yell at me. I’m sorry—I shouldn’t have fallen for Logan. It’s all my fault..."
"Selina, what are you doing?!"
"Oh my God, she’s pregnant! How can you go after a pregnant woman? You psycho, go die!"
"She’s trying to kill her! Call the cops, now!"
Selina’s eyes turned cold. Here we go again.
Angelica had learned well from Katie—cry a little, act weak, and suddenly she’s the victim.
Aunt Morris was screaming now, "Where are the guards?! Get this woman out of here! And you! The first one to slap her gets 100,000 bucks!"
The security guards looked at each other, hesitant to act—until Aunt Morris promised a cash reward. Then someone finally gave in.
