"Are you sure about what you are going to do?" Ethan asked Geena who was putting on her overcoat and then started brushing her hand over the pocket to feel the envelope inside.
"Yes. Hundred percent," she tucked back the hair strand behind her ear, "I don’t think I’ll be able to manage this job with my studies. It’s time to say goodbye to Nina Sinclair."
After fixing her hair in front of the mirror, she shifted to look at Ethan, sitting on the edge of the bed, observing her.
"Thank you for locating Nina. Otherwise, Valerie’s intrusive questions had started giving me heart palpitations."
"I understand," he said with a reassuring smile.
Geena was standing there numbly at a loss for words. She wasn’t aware why she was feeling like that.
"I know you’re shaken by his death," Ethan said softly, "but imagine what his family must be going through. He made arrangements for your education so I think you should respect his efforts and go for it."
Geena closed her eyes with a sigh, "You are right. Though I don’t know how I will be able to pay for the rest of the semesters ... still..." she chuckled, "Thank you."
"We will come up with something. Now let me know if you need a ride to MSin palace."
Geena shook her head with a tight smile, "No. I’ll manage. Plus seeing me with you, can confuse Sinclair women’s minds and right now I want to avoid any drama involving Nina or Valerie."
Ethan got up and gave her a side hug, "Stop worrying about someone who has zero compassion for you and zero contribution in your life. The only purpose of such people is to point out fingers, sitting on their asses, doing nothing. They all are a*ssholes and you don’t need to worry about their judgments."
Maybe Ethan was right. It was high time that she became confident and faced such people bravely.
Especially Nina.

Geena stood in the doorway, her arms crossed over her chest, watching Nina as she flipped through a magazine.
Right now, the lounge was quiet because Marissa went grocery shopping with all four kids and Emily.
Sophie was out for some official work. So, Nina had the home to herself.
There was no sound in the room except the soft flipping of pages. Nina was seated comfortably on the couch and didn’t even sense Geena’s presence.
Geena cleared her throat, but Nina didn’t look up. Taking a deep breath, Geena stepped forward, "Without telling me, you disappeared. You didn’t even leave a trail for me."
Nina flicked her gaze up from the magazine for a moment, then shrugged. A small smile was tugging at the corner of her lips, "Are you here to tell me that you were worried sick for me?"
A dash of frustration crossed Geena’s face, "I’m your assistant. Valerie was after my life because you were missing."
"It’s good that you remember, you are my assistant and I’m your employer," Nina remarked casually, turning the pages of the magazine but Geena didn’t miss the amusement in her voice.
"B...But Nina..."
"Umm hmm. I don’t owe you an explanation, Geena. You are wasting your time. Tell me, why are you here?"
"For God’s sake. You could’ve at least told me. I was freaking out," No. I wasn’t. I was actually hoping that you had died.

I was into the story but then the translator who was translating it for whatever language to English stopped translating half the words are half English and another language it's very hard to follow a book when you can't understand what the written word is translators need to do better...
