Marissa took the kids to the grocery mart because she thought they would enjoy the experience but all they kept doing in the store was talking about Rafael. Marissa’s health coach had asked her to let the kids talk about their father.
But now it had started taking a toll on her mental health.
The girls were telling Georgie how their father bought them everything except those flavored candies. A gentle smile tugged on Marissa’s lips.
Last time, while standing at the cash counter, she treated Rafael as if she didn’t know him at all when he was taking out all those condom packets from the cart.
I hope you can come back. Just once, Rafael. Just once. I swear I won’t stand there like a stranger, no matter how embarrassing the situation is.
"Ma’am! Ma’am!"
Marissa jolted back into reality when Georgie shook her hand, "Aunt Marissa. It’s your turn now," Marissa glanced back and found the people standing behind her looking at her oddly.
"Isn’t she Marissa Sinclair? Her event at Msin was covered by channels."
"Oh, my, my. Are these Rafael Sinclair’s kids? They are so cute..."
Marissa quickly paid the bill on the counter and left the store.
"Hurry up, kids," she slipped back her dark shades and got settled with the kids in the back seat. With each passing day, it was getting worse for her.
Everything reminded her of him. No matter how hard she tried to keep herself busy, his se*xy image used to pop up in her mind.
When she was getting down from the car, she found Geena coming out of the house.
"Hello, Mrs. Sinclair," Marissa had a faint memory of the girl following Nina around in the office. The girl was looking at her with a somber expression. Marissa gave her a polite nod and headed inside.
Nina’s face lit up as soon as she spotted the kids.
"Whoa. Look at you all. You all forgot your granny behind! Now come here and let me punish you."
The girls started squealing in delight when Nina started teasing their necks with the feather-like touch of her fingers.
"Granny! Sorry!" Abi laughed loudly and for a moment Marissa wanted to clamp her hand on her daughter’s mouth.
She was getting scared of smiles, laughter... happiness.
The constant fear that something might happen anyway, anytime to anyone. She tiredly plopped onto the sofa and took the glass from the maid who brought her water.
"Ask. Emily to take the kids for the nap," she asked the woman and lifted the glass to her lips. Nina straightened when the kids left with Emily and gave Marissa a critical look.
She narrowed her eyes, her voice cutting through the silence, "What did you have for breakfast?"
Marissa blinked, her head slowly lifting from her scattered thoughts, "Hmm,"
Nina heaved a long sigh before standing up and getting to Marissa to sit beside her.
"Marissa. When was the last time you had a proper meal?" her voice might be stern, but Marissa felt a flicker of concern beneath it.

I was into the story but then the translator who was translating it for whatever language to English stopped translating half the words are half English and another language it's very hard to follow a book when you can't understand what the written word is translators need to do better...
