Instead of kneading the dough, Marissa stood in the kitchen staring into space. Rafael had just come out of his study room after attending an online meeting and tried calling Marissa’s name twice, but she was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn’t realize it.
Instead of calling her name for the third time, he came from behind and wrapped his arms around her waist, "What’re you thinking, princess?"
Marissa startled a bit and then closed her eyes with a smile, "Our daughters," she turned around with her hands still messy with the white flour on her hands, "I’m worried about our daughters."
Rafael’s brows furrowed before holding her wrists in his grip, "What about our daughters?"
Marissa heaved a heavy sigh and broke the eye contact, "Emily told me that Valerie tried talking to them at Sophie’s reception dinner."
Emily was the kids’ nanny who used to keep a strict eye on them.
"Oh," Rafael released her wrists and cupped her cheek, "Did Sophie also see something suspicious, or was it just Emily..."
He trailed off when Marissa pursed her lips, "N-no. Sophie is enjoying her honeymoon and it’s unfair to her to make her listen about my family problems anymore when she should be enjoying this time with her husband," she scowled, "And no. Sophie didn’t notice anything. It was just Emily."
"Hmm," Rafael nodded and bent down to kiss her cheek, "You never stopped me from seeing our kids," he pointed out, and a slow smile spread on Marissa’s lips.
She placed her messy hand on his rough cheek to cup it, "Sophie convinced me that you’re their father and deserve to meet them."
Rafael turned his head and kissed her palm, which smudged the white flour on his nose tip and lips.
The flour marks were already imprinted on his cheek.
Marissa giggled and tried to wipe them with her other hand, but it spread more.
"Damn!" she wanted to turn around to pick up the cloth from the counter, but he stopped her by holding her shoulders.
Before she could protest, he leaned a little and bumped his nose to hers, "Forget about the flour," he kissed her lips, "Focus on your husband."
Marissa wrapped her arms around his neck, "Don’t you even think of being naughty in the kitchen. Kids are home."
Rafael groaned and that made her giggle again, "Sophia knew what we did in the bathroom when we joined her. She didn’t say anything, but I knew the look."
"Ah!" Rafael leaned his forehead against hers and his shoulders started shaking with mirth, "Or maybe she knew because she has already done it with Joseph."
Marissa laughed loudly and leaned more into her husband. They both were standing in the kitchen, wrapped in each other’s arms, not caring who could catch them.
"Stop worrying about Valerie, wifey," he leaned his cheek on her head, "as parents, we can’t control everything around our kids. But we need to teach them how to tackle situations. And not to repeat the mistakes we already made."
In his arms, Marissa was nodding her head thoughtfully, "So you think I should let them meet Valerie."
"Don’t go above and beyond," he stated, "We can’t keep them sheltered all their lives. Don’t allow Valerie openly but also don’t stop our kids from talking to her. The truth might be bitter, but the fact is a fact. She is our kids’ aunt."
Alexander Sinclair grumbled, sitting in his seat, "No. She is no one special." freeweɓnøvel.com
"So, she is special. Right, Alex!" Alex didn’t answer and went to his room followed by his sisters.

I was into the story but then the translator who was translating it for whatever language to English stopped translating half the words are half English and another language it's very hard to follow a book when you can't understand what the written word is translators need to do better...
