"I know you need money; your mom isn’t doing well nowadays. Keep it, Penny!" Paige slipped some cash into the hands of one of her admirers. The girl was hesitant to accept help, but she needed it badly.
"And what do I have to do in return, Paige?" She asked George’s assistant with curiosity and Paige just placed her hand on her shoulder.
"Nothing, silly. You just need to tell one or two office females that our dearest boss George Donovan got engaged to Ariel Sinclair."
"Wh-what?" The girl tried to return the money, "No, Paige. I might land into trouble."
She liked Paige but never performed any such stunt in the office, "If George Donovan will find out, I’ll be on the streets."
Instead of accepting the money, Paige held her hands, "Don’t be stupid. No one is asking you to deliver the confirmed news. Just tell one or two girls that you heard some other ladies talking in the bathroom or the locker area. That’s it. Easy peasy."
The girl was still hesitant to accept it, but she didn’t know Paige. Paige always had a way with words. She could easily convince anyone she wanted.
She had been like that since childhood. Once she set her mind to something, there was no stopping her.
"Everyone knows that you are my friend, Penny. I assure you; no one will ever doubt you."
Penny looked at the currency notes clutched in her fist and then her eyes darted to Paige’s face, "OK, fine. I’ll do it."
"That’s like my girl!" Paige hugged her with a smile. It was going way better than she had planned.
"I’ll tell them that it might be a rumor," the girl whispered again.
"Obviously!" Paige patted her shoulder, "That’s what you need to do. You are smart, Penny."

Ariel had woken up late and was now eating cereal at the dining table in George’s living room, "Are you going to the office?" she asked him, putting a spoonful into her mouth.
Dressed in a crisp white shirt and black dress pants, George looked more than handsome. She watched him with a smile and narrowed her eyes, "The girl is here to celebrate your birthday and here you are giving more importance to work... tsk," She started playing with her cereal.
George’s mouth curled up into a mischievous grin, "Importance! Huh?" he strolled to her and took another seat near her, "I’ve got a dinner date this evening. However, I’m planning to cancel all my meetings just for you, Ariel," he ruffled her hair fondly, "I need to go to the office for signing a few files."
That’s what Ariel liked about him. Honesty! No hanky panky.
He didn’t give her any false hope and was ready to cancel his important meetings for her.
But wait! Did he just tell her about a date?
"Who are you having this date with? Who is she?" she probed further and gave the small bronze warrior a fond look that was still sitting on the dining table, "Is it from her?" she pointed towards the small beauty.
Whoever this girl was, he seemed serious about her. And then something flashed in her mind, and she drew a sharp breath,
"O.M.G! I met a girl last evening in the reception area of this building. The way you left me in the living room and ran to her after receiving the call from the manager ... Holly Molly! Is she the same girl?"
"Maybe," George shrugged with a faint smile and Ariel chuckled.
"Shit. Only if I knew," she then tapped her finger on his hand that was placed on the dining table, "My parents might have taught me to allow personal space but I’m telling you, George Donovan," she raised her spoon in front of his face to warn him, "I’m not allowing any space to you."
George threw back his head and laughed. Ariel Sinclair had always been on the rebellious side. Though her parents doted on her, she was Rafael Sinclair’s most spoiled child.
