Mr. President You Are The Daddy Of My Triplets novel Chapter 498

Chapter 498: 498- Obvious

Abi lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling, but sleep wouldn’t come. Her mind had been too restless since George left.

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t stop thinking about him. She met him after so many days and could sense how weak he looked. His dark circles were visible on his face, and he kept brushing his hands through his hair.

The way he hugged her, the way his voice trembled when he spoke her name...

It kept playing on a loop in her head.

Did he really look for her? She was aware that Olivia and Emma must be worried, but George...

She didn’t give him any hope when they met last time in Mrs. Eileen’s office.

Last night, he tried to talk to her after dinner, but she had made sure that he never got the chance. Not because she didn’t want to, but because she didn’t know what to say or how to react.

She had tried her best to stay close to her family, pretending she was busy for any conversation alone with him.

A soft knock at the door made her jolt a little. Before she could respond, the door creaked open, and Ariel peeked in.

Her face reminded Abi of what her sister did at the dinner table, and she couldn’t suppress the smile.

"Are you sleeping?" She asked, though she didn’t even wait for Abigail’s reply and stepped inside.

Abigail sighed before mumbling, "I’m trying to ..."

Ariel grinned as she plopped onto the bed beside her, "Liar!" she said softly, "You were thinking about George, weren’t you?"

Abi’s body seemed to stiffen a little, "What? No. Why would I?"

Ariel arched a brow at her sister, "Hmm. Interesting."

Abigail pretended to be unfazed and laid back with a shrug, "Meeting him was good... nothing special. As my ex-boss, I almost know enough about him."

Ariel narrowed her eyes as if trying to read her sister, "Really? Nothing special?"

"Umm hmm. Nothing special," she nodded, "I led a very stressful life, Ariel. Got practical in childhood when the kids of my age were discussing fairytales and social media," she intertwined her fingers on her belly and looked at her sister, "I do remember George, but I don’t feel that link with him anymore. People change. Their preferences change," she tried to justify herself.

Ariel’s lips curled into a knowing smile, "That’s... that’s great!" she chirped, clapping her hands together.

Abigail smirked and ruffled her sister’s hair. Sometimes, she felt as if leading a different life in different circumstances had made her more mature than Ariel.

Ariel leaned in, lowering her voice as if she were sharing a juicy secret, "Now I can make him my boyfriend for real. Without any guilt."

Abigail’s heart skipped a beat, "What?"

"Yeah. He is hot, rich, and clearly a complete package. What’s not to like in him?" she sighed dramatically, "I’ve decided .... That George Sinclair is my next boyfriend."

Abigail felt something tighten in her chest, but she quickly masked it with a small laugh, "Good luck with that."

Ariel flipped her hair over her shoulder in style, "Oh. Just wait and watch."

The small action reminded Abigail of Valerie. The resemblance was uncanny.

Abi gave her a tight-lipped smile and then opened her mouth before closing it again.
