Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton novel Chapter 299

Jean had rehearsed these words in her heart countless times. When she finally spoke, her words were filled with deep emotion. "Brad, I've been trying so hard to forget you, but I just can't. I really can't.

"Even though I've lived abroad for six years, I've been relying on medication to keep me alive. I was afraid you'd find out about my illness, and even more afraid of disrupting your family and angering your grandfather and father. So, no matter how much I missed you or how painful my illness was, I never considered coming back to find you.

"When you truly love someone, you don't want to be a burden to them. I didn't want to be a burden to you or interfere with your family, but I just can't control myself! I want you with me, but I also fear that it would destroy your family. I'm so conflicted and in so much pain.

"I think leaving here and finding a quiet place to just fade away is my only option. Why did you come looking for me?"

The bathroom had a warm air blower, and the heat made it feel less cold. Brad stood there with his back to Jean, feeling the urge to walk away decisively.

Yet, Jean's heartfelt words moved him deeply. Despite his usual cold demeanor, he couldn't help but be touched.

He took a deep breath, trying to suppress his frustration. Still facing away, he gently said, "Jeanie, don't say that. Your illness can be treated. I'll find a way to help you, and you need to have faith in yourself. Let's not worry about love right now. Your health is the most important thing. Don't you agree?"

He added, "I promise I'll find a suitable kidney donor for you as soon as possible."
