Chapter 187
As soon as Sophia spoke, a collective gasp swept through the crowd. Is she out of her mind? Did she even realize who she was starting un ich in- wondered. The onlookers broke into cold sweats, fearing for her.
Yet the three men facing Sophia remained unruffled. When Miles heard her words, he simply lowered his head slightly.
Edward wore a faint smile. In a mellow, clear voice–graceful and perfectly gentle–he said, “Thank you for the reminder. Ms Chandler, Then, turning slightly, he called, “Miles?”
Miles stepped forward. Unlike those spoiled rich kids, he humbly accepted the advice. “Thank you, Ms. Chandler. I’ll definitely be more careful next firzie
Miles just thought the clothes were dirty and tossed them out, never imagining anyone would even make a fuss over his discarded frash
Sophia didn’t think she’d said anything particularly remarkable.
Only then did Sophia notice that Edward, seated in his wheelchair, was dressed in long–sleeved clothes and long pants, with a light blanket draped across his legs.
No one spoke, yet the atmosphere wasn’t awkward, just an unseen aura, deeply felt, lingering in the air.
Dorian’s eyes darted around mischievously as he waved sweetly at Edward, flashing his most angelic smile. “Hello, Edward. I’m Dorian,” he greeted.
Edward looked at him with a gentle smile. “Hello there. Your elder brother is Evander, correct? He and Miles were university classmates.”
Dorian’s eyes widened in surprise. He hadn’t expected Edward to know about his brother.
Miles’s expression visibly stiffened when Dorian talked to Edward.
Gritting his teeth, Miles managed to say, “Evander is my college classmate, and we were roommates.”
Dorian immediately chimed in cheerfully, “Hi, Miles. Evander is here today, too.”
Miles instinctively glanced at Edward and said, “I saw him just now.”
Dorian blinked playfully and grinned. “Then let’s add each other on social media.”
Miles hesitated for a moment. Edward said curtly, “Colin?” Colin immediately pulled out his phone.
Dorian had just been trying his luck, completely surprised that it actually worked. With a beaming smile, Dorian added Colin on social media and greeted him with practiced innocence, “Nice to meet you, Mr. Flores.”
The stern Colin gave a brief nod in acknowledgment to the seemingly well–behaved boy.
Without a word, Sophia turned and walked away.
Dorian waved at the trio with a bright, beaming smile, “Bye, Edward. Bye, Miles. Bye, Mr. Flores.”
The onlookers were stunned. Not only did Sophia manage not to offend Miles, but he actually humbly thanked her. Most bizarrely, Dorian even managed to add Colin on social media.
The popcorn crowd who’d been gleefully waiting for Sophia to crash and burn were left utterly disappointed.
Edward stifled a cough with his fist and, with a faint smile, said in a measured tone, “Remember what Ms. Chandler said. Don’t do such foolish things anymore.”
Miles lowered his head. “I’ll remember that, sir.”

Chapter 187
Weariness washed over Edward. “Let’s go back“.
Miles quickly asked, “Sh, aren’t you staying for the wedding?”
Edward said coldly, “What does the Dawson family’s wedding have to do with ut? Don’t forget why we’re really here”
Miles remained silent, lost in thought as he
hed Colin wheel Edward out of the Dawson
estate.
“Mr. Hartwick?” Just then, Jacob pushed his sway through the crowd from the restroom and rushed up to Miles.
Miles frowned, quickly taking several steps back. “Stay away from me.”
Jacob stood rooted to the spot, not daring to immediately.”
Fawning, he said, “Mr. Hartwick, Sophia just offended
you. I’ll have someone remove her
Miles didn’t even bother to hide his disgust. “You’re offending me. You reek.”
Jacob choked on his words, rendered speechless.
Miles grimaced, feeling utterly uncomfortable. “No way, shower. Right now.”
Jacob’s eyes lit up. “I’ll take you there right away.”
Miles recoiled in alarm, throwing up a hand to ward him off. “Stay back,” he blurted out, then, with his long legs, practically bolted away.
Jacob stood dumbfounded. An awkward silence fell over the guests. Only Dorian burst into uncontrollable Laughter, utterly disregarding Jacob’s
embarrassment.
Jacob whirled around and shot Dorian a fierce glare. Dorian reined in his laughter, widened his eyes in an exaggerated stare, and glared right back. “What? Can’t a guest even laugh at the Dawson estate?”
Jacob gritted his teeth, snorted in contempt, and stalked off.
“Sophia?” Jonathan and Heather arrived belatedly.
Jonathan’s face darkened the moment he arrived. He snapped, “What exactly did you do just now?”
Sophia glanced up and immediately caught sight of Yvette trailing behind them, a smug, gloating smile spreading across her face.
Sophia’s lips curled into a faint, mocking smile. “Jonathan, why are you so worked up? Wouldn’t want you dropping dead from rage at their wedding celebration.”
Jonathan choked on his words, clutching his chest as he coughed a few times. Heather stood by absentmindedly, saying nothing.
-Sean’s face darkened as he demanded, “Did you just have a run–in with someone from the Hartwick family?”
Sophia said nothing, lifting her chin in a defiant stare.
