Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 2303

"Didn't you say your parents were used to living in the countryside and felt uncomfortable in the big house? They can just move back," Adora suggested. "My mom said if I marry you, that will be the compensation for your injury, so everything else needs to be returned."

Brooklyn's face turned pale. "This isn't right. You can't ruin your relationship with your family for me. I'd feel terrible. Please, take your bags back and apologize to them."

Adora was naive but not stupid. She sensed his reluctance and questioned, "What do you mean? Are you really with me for my family's money, like my mom said?"

Brooklyn was caught off guard, but he quickly flashed a smile. "Of course not, babe. I like you for who you are. Even if you weren't a Lawson, just an ordinary girl, I'd still choose you. I'm just touched by how hard you're trying to reconcile with your family for me. I feel bad about it."

Adora smiled in relief. "It's okay. Even if it's hard at first, I'm willing to try for you. If you don't want your parents to go back to the countryside, we can squeeze a little and have them move into Peakview Tower with us."

Brooklyn stroked her head, looking moved. "My parents aren't used to the city, but moving back would be troublesome. It might be tough on you in the future, having to help take care of them."

"It's my duty," Adora replied.

Callum had also joined a new production crew, but the filming location was not in Svelton, and he was away for two months. Aside from a few advertisement shoots, he spent most of his time living on the set.

Adora was also constantly splitting her time between work and Peakview Tower. While she often traveled for business trips that could last up to two weeks, she always made sure to stock the fridge with fresh fruits and groceries before each trip.

Three months later, on Brooklyn's birthday.

Adora took time off work and rushed back from the border, traveling for two days to reach Svelton.

She was short on cash because her bank cards had been taken away, and she had given most of last month's salary to Brooklyn's family for living expenses. Hence, she had to take the bus back to Peakview Tower.

She hadn't told Brooklyn she was coming back, planning to surprise him. She entered the elevator with a cake, her face beaming with excitement.
