Callum looked at her with hopeful eyes, his gaze brimming with tenderness.
After a moment of internal struggle, Adora whispered, "Beanie, about last night… Can we pretend it never happened?"
Callum froze, his smile instantly fading.
"I-I drank too much. I wasn't thinking clearly. I'm sorry for hurting you. I can make it up to you. Anything you want."
His heart sank as he replied, "I want to be yours."
Adora was silent, wrestling with her thoughts before finally saying, "I'm sorry…"
Callum bit his lip, his eyes reddening. "So, you don't want me? You still want to go back to Brooklyn?"
"It has nothing to do with him."
How could it not?
Callum's nose stung as tears welled up in his blue eyes. This time, he was genuinely heartbroken. He turned away, hugging the blanket and refusing to look at Adora.
"You're so cruel. You suggested we try, but you're going back on your words."
Adora was at a loss for words.
"Just go. Don't worry about me."
The young man's clear voice was choked with tears. He curled up his long legs, clutching the blanket pitifully and burying his face in it, silently wiping away his tears.
Adora glanced at him, her eyes falling on his smooth back marked with obvious scratches.
He looked so pitiful.
"Beanie." She reached out to touch his injured back, trying to comfort him.
"Don't touch me…" His voice was thick with a nasal tone and accusation. "You always treat me like a child, but I'm an adult. I can take responsibility for any promise I make. You're the one backing out. Who's really being childish here?"
Adora did not know what to say. Soon, the room fell silent, and the atmosphere was heavy with tension.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
