"Sorry! I'm sorry! I really couldn't help it!"
Samantha wiped the soup off her face with a tissue, frowning. "It's that bad?"
"I'm starting to think you're trying to kill me."
"No way! My boyfriend tried it!"
"I'm starting to think both you and your boyfriend are trying to kill me."
Samantha was speechless. She still didn't believe it. Sure, she wasn't some expert chef, but Leonardo wasn't the type to lie.
She grabbed the spoon from Layla's hand. "Let me try it."
One spoonful in, and she instantly regretted it. It was like drinking a bowl of liquid salt.
This time, it was Layla who got sprayed.
Samantha immediately apologized. "I'm so sorry! I really didn't do that on purpose! I couldn't hold it in! It wasn't revenge!"
"Oh, please. That was 100% revenge!"
"It wasn't! I swear! Don't twist it!"
Layla dabbed soup off her face with a tissue, pulling a face. "I think you owe me for emotional damages."
"I brought you a designer bag. Just got it back from overseas."
"Okay! You're forgiven! Love you!"
Her face broke into a grin as she threw her arms around Samantha. "Your boyfriend's actually not bad—aside from his psycho mom and his bratty cousin."
"Yeah..."
"If it gets too annoying, just poison them both. Shut them up for good."
Samantha instantly clamped a hand over her mouth. "You can't say that kind of stuff!"
"Anyway, I want to get your opinion on something."
"What is it?"
Samantha asked, "Remember last time we ran into my boyfriend's older brother at Evergreen's flagship store? He gave me a stuffed toy keychain."
"Yeah, I remember. What about it?"
"Well, last night, when my boyfriend found out it came from his brother, he ripped it apart right before me."
