Samantha was completely confused.
Whining to Leonardo? She hadn't said a single word.
She looked down at the bags that had just been thrown at her feet. Why did they look so familiar? It took her a moment, but then it clicked—these were the bags Leonardo had given her.
A few days ago, when she and Leonardo had moved back into Sterling Residences, she'd noticed a bunch of her things were missing from the closet.
But since they were all gifts from Leonardo, she figured they were technically his to begin with. If Laura or Yara really wanted them, she didn't feel like she had the right to say no. Hence, she hadn't dwelled on the missing things.
She didn't expect to see Yara return those bags in person now, trying to humiliate her while she was at it.
With no one else around, Samantha dropped the polite act. "You picked up the trash I didn't want and treated it like treasure, and now you come crawling back to curse me? You’re the pathetic one."
Yara's face flushed with rage. "Trash? Really? Do you even know your worth, Samantha? Do you think you actually deserve this stuff?"
"Leonardo gave it to me, didn't he? That means I do. Did he give you any of it?"
That shut Yara right up.
Exactly. She hadn't gotten anything and that was what stung. She clung tightly to the car door, so furious she could almost launch herself out and give Samantha a good beating.
Just then, she spotted someone walking out of the condominium complex.
It was Leonardo.
A sly smirk curled on Yara's lips. What perfect timing! Today, she was going to expose Samantha's true colors right in front of him.
Forcing herself to sound calm, she said, "Just because he didn't give me anything doesn't mean he doesn't care about me. You're clearly trying to stir up trouble between us."
"Oh really? Why did he have you bring these back then? It's pretty clear he thinks you're the one who doesn't deserve them."
