Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1194

Sheena pursed her lips, waved to Elliot, and promptly entered the Lawson Group building.

Elliot waited for quite some time before starting the car.

He first set a reminder on his phone for Sheena's noontime medication, and only after Sheena's figure had disappeared entirely did he drive to the National Investigation Bureau.

As he arrived at his office, Lionel was already standing outside, holding a stack of files, seemingly waiting for him.

Elliot was surprised and asked, "Why are you waiting outside?"

Lionel chuckled. "Standing here gives me a view of the hallway so I can greet you in advance."

"What a glib excuse," Elliot teased, but he was not angry.

He stepped past Lionel and opened the door, gesturing for him to enter.

Lionel followed obediently, placing the investigation files on Elliot's desk.

Elliot picked up the files and scanned through them, saying, "Give me your thoughts and progress report."

"This case happened over twenty years ago, so it was quite challenging to find archived news on it. I searched through all the news agencies in Svelton and finally found some archived files that documented the car accident back then."

Elliot frowned, seemingly taken aback. "Although the Jenkins family wasn't the richest back then, we were still one of the prominent families in Svelton. As the eldest son and heir apparent of the Jenkins family, Dad's death should have caused a national sensation. How could it be reported only by a few news agencies?"

Lionel nodded. "I find that suspicious as well. Mom and Dad had a significant status in the Jenkins family, and they were well-known. Their deaths in a car accident should have been a major event. Yet, none of the major news agencies in Svelton have any backup of the news from that time. The few news reports available are from small tabloids."

He paused, then continued in a serious tone, "Take a closer look at the news clippings I gathered. The accident descriptions are not detailed. They only mention that the driver was drunk and drove dangerously at high speed, causing the accident. After the accident, the driver paid a hefty sum in compensation and was sentenced to death."

Death penalty?

In a traffic case, the circumstances must have been dire for that to happen.

It indicated that the driver not only drove drunk but possibly fled the scene or had other unknown motives.

Elliot's expression darkened as he looked at the news summaries from years ago.
