Sheena was not mincing her words either.
"Uncle Grant, you should go back for now. Elliot is busy with work matters, and he might not be able to spare some time to meet you. He'll be working overtime until ten tonight. I'll make sure he returns to the Jenkins estate and meet Grandpa as soon as he's done."
Grant was at a loss, caught in a dilemma.
However, he did not leave as he would not return until he completed the task assigned by Santiago.
"Mrs. Jenkins, I came here this time for the matter regarding Mr. Stanley and Mr. Peter. Old Man Jenkins already knows that Mr. Jenkins had Mr. Stanley placed with the criminals, resulting in him being badly bullied. Old Man Jenkins is…"
As Grant continued speaking, Sheena's frown deepened.
Annoyed on Elliot's behalf, she interrupted, "Uncle Grant, Elliot is seeking justice for Grandpa and me. Stanley only suffered a little, and Grandpa already sympathizes with him?"
Grant chuckled awkwardly and replied, "That's not what I meant, Mrs. Jenkins. You misunderstood. Old Man Jenkins is strict, and Mr. Stanley is indeed in the wrong. Mr. Jenkins has every right to discipline him, and Old Man Jenkins has no objection. He just feels that since it's a family matter, it should be dealt with at home and not escalated to the legal level of the National Investigation Bureau."
Sheena sank deeper into the sofa, her expression gradually becoming solemn.
Was it about preserving Stanley's reputation?
Was Santiago hoping to prevent internal strife within the Jenkins family from being exposed to the outside world?
Was he trying to spare Stanley from having a criminal record and the associated stigma?
Or was Santiago worried that Stanley would be completely unable to adapt and survive in an environment like a prison and holding cell and would be driven crazy or even die?
Or were these all just excuses, with Santiago hiding his true intentions?
Sheena sighed, glancing toward the small bathroom, feeling a pang of sympathy for Elliot.
If she was already starting to speculate about Santiago's motives, Elliot, who had once regarded Santiago as his closest kin, must be feeling torn.
If the day came when the truth was laid bare, and it was not as rosy as they hoped, what would Elliot do?
Sheena withdrew her gaze, lowering her eyes gloomily.
"Does Grandpa really think that Stanley, with his small frame, can survive 60 lashes?"
Grant replied, "Mr. Stanley is frail, and he will certainly die from the whipping. However, Mr. Jenkins's intention in punishing him is to teach him a lesson, not to take his life. So why can't we negotiate a bit and not be so rigid about it?"
"Don't beat around the bush. Just say what's on your mind," Sheena urged.
"Old Man Jenkins suggested dividing the 60 lashes into three sessions, giving Mr. Stanley half a month to recover after each session."
Sheena fell silent, looking displeased.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
