Santiago sighed. "You're an adult now, able to make your own decisions. You no longer listen to my advice. Even when I asked Uncle Grant to find you, it took multiple trips. Would you have come back willingly if I hadn't pretended to be ill?"
Elliot felt helpless under his accusations and replied, "I respect and honor you the most, Grandpa, but I have my boundaries. You know me well. If anyone dares to harm those closest to me, no matter who they are, I won't let them off easily. Stanley was only in custody for two days, facing minor inconveniences, and yet you're so distressed. You're using the truth about my parents' death to manipulate me and even faking illness to make me come back. Do you really care about me? I'm your grandson too."
Facing Elliot's criticisms, Santiago had no words to refute, resorting to appealing to their family ties.
"Eli, I'm old. I only have you and Stanley, my two grandsons, and Naomi, my granddaughter. The other grandchildren, perhaps because of my karma, have all had accidents of varying degrees in their youth. I don't want to see you fighting over inheritance and power, resorting to violence and bloodshed."
As Santiago spoke, he reached out to touch Elliot, his eldest and most promising grandson, who had grown up under his care.
However, Elliot subtly avoided his touch, catching Santiago off guard.
He silently withdrew his hand, shifting to a more serious tone.
"I called you here tonight because I wanted to confess the truth about your parents' accident, but on the condition that you release Uncle Peter and Stanley."
Elliot's gaze darkened slightly, hesitating for a few seconds before agreeing to Santiago's request.
"Alright, I can release them and consider this matter closed."
Santiago was momentarily surprised. He had prepared many arguments for this negotiation with Elliot, but he had not expected Elliot to agree so readily.
Even though he was relieved, a hint of guilt flickered in his cloudy eyes as he began to recount the past.
"Your dad was my chosen successor… In that accident, the driver responsible was a close friend from my military days. He had saved my life before, so I chose to sacrifice my eldest son and daughter-in-law, who were already dead on the spot, to help him escape punishment."
Elliot furrowed his brow, not really trusting Santiagos' words.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
