At the mention of Roger's name, Elliot lowered his gaze, falling into a brief silence.
Sheena did not push him.
The two stood at the entrance of the altar room, one lowering his head, the other staring at him.
After a moment of contemplation, Elliot casually asked, "Nana, if this were happening in the Lawson family, as the head of the Lawson family, what would you do?"
Sheena turned away, leaving the altar room.
She calmly replied, "But this is concerning the Jenkins family."
Elliot hurried to catch up with her, taking her hand as he said, "Naomi and you have been childhood friends, so I want to know your thoughts."
"Are my thoughts important?" Sheena was puzzled. "This is an internal matter of the Jenkins family. You're in charge, and if I interfere too much, it's crossing boundaries."
"For me, your feelings matter the most. How are you overstepping your boundaries if you get involved in the Jenkins family matters?"
Elliot tightened his grip on her hand, feeling the warmth between their palms.
Looking into her eyes, he spoke earnestly, "I know if we deal too harshly with Uncle Roger's family, you wouldn't be too pleased. After all, you don't think his family has done much wrong, and Peter's punishment already served as a great warning. If that's what you truly think, then I'll remove the officers stationed at Uncle Roger's house and refrain from further action against him."
Sheena listened quietly to his words, feeling a bit bewildered.
After some time, she touched Elliot's forehead, checking if he had a fever.
"Honey, are you sick? You're not the type to make such rash decisions."
The idea of deciding whether to punish Roger's family based on her feelings seemed absurd to Sheena.
It almost felt like her beloved husband was someone else.
To her inquiry, Elliot lowered his head even further, squeezing Sheena's hand tightly as he pulled her into a firm embrace.
Holding Sheena close, he buried his handsome face in her neck, concealing the slightly reddened eyes.
Elliot took a deep breath, seeking solace in Sheena's comforting scent.
"Honey, what's wrong?" Sheena sensed something off about his mood.

The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
