"I know you've been great to me in that regard, but I… I just wish you'd pay more attention to me, like with the engagement. Even Mr. Jenkins cared about it, but you never once talked to me about it because of your work," Jacintha opened up.
Lionel sat her down in the passenger seat of his luxury car and buckled her in. Then, he got behind the wheel and drove them home.
Jacintha did not argue or fuss, obediently gazing out the window at the scenery.
Lionel glanced at her occasionally, sincerely apologizing for his earlier words.
"I have overlooked some of the things concerning our engagement, but I thought you didn't want anything to do with your family. You've mentioned not liking them, let alone wanting to contact them. I was afraid bringing up finding your parents would upset you, so I never asked. I didn't expect it to make you feel ignored."
Hearing his explanation, Jacintha felt much better.
She grumbled softly, "That's a minor issue. The main thing is you broke your promise today. You said you'd take me out, and I've been looking forward to it for half a month, but you forgot…"
Lionel nodded. "That was indeed my fault. I'm sorry."
He gripped the steering wheel with one hand, his sleeves rolled up slightly, revealing firm muscles.
Although a bit tanner than before, he exuded the sexy charm of a mature 28-year-old man.
Jacintha stole a glance at his profile as he drove.
He apologized, and suddenly… she did not feel as angry anymore.
However, she could not help but feel a little embarrassed at how easily Lionel soothed her frustration.
They were not even home yet!
A mischievous glint flickered in her eyes, and Jacintha softly continued her complaint, "You're sorry? Is that all? I wasted my entire day off, so you owe me a day off."
Her voice carried a hint of playfulness since most of her anger had dissipated.
Lionel kept his eyes on the road and focused on driving, not answering her immediately.
Unsatisfied, Jacintha persisted, "If you're sorry, can't you free up tomorrow and spend the day with me at the swimming pool, the aquarium, and the Ferris wheel?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
