As the babies' godfather, Nathaniel bought some gifts.
If Elliot and Sheena had been around, he would have treated them equally, buying the same toy for both Adora and Asher, but in different colors. However, since Elliot and Sheena were absent, he could not be bothered with the formalities.
Nathaniel bought a large bag of gifts for Adora, leaving out Asher.
While pacifying the babies, even Freida could not help but comment, "Mr. Nicholls, you've bought so many gifts for Ms. Adora at once! She's really lucky. She might not even be able to play with them all. Why not share a few with Mr. Asher?"
Nathaniel refused without hesitation, saying, "These are rewards for Adora. She's been well-behaved and has a good appetite and energy."
He glanced at Asher in the nearby crib and added, "Asher hasn't been behaving well lately. He doesn't even drink as much milk as Adora. At this rate, he'll soon be lighter than her. Not giving him gifts is a little punishment for him."
Freida was caught off guard by his reply.
"Mr. Nicholls, Mr. Asher is only a few months old. He doesn't understand what you're saying. What's the point of punishing him?"
Nathaniel did not want to continue the conversation and changed the subject.
"How did both babies do with their milk this morning?"
Freida pulled out the volume record book for each feeding and reported, "Mr. Asher drank a little less than yesterday morning, while Ms. Adora was the same, with a good appetite."
Nathaniel furrowed his brow slightly, looking at Asher sleeping soundly in the blue crib.
For several days now, his appetite had not improved but rather worsened, and his spirit seemed to be declining.
Nathaniel gently tapped the little one's face and then shook a rattle in front of him.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
