Watching the 375 thousand dollars slip away just like that was like waking up from a dream.
At this point, Jacintha was no longer part of the Finley family, and her attitude toward Donald was particularly indifferent, paying no heed to his furious glare.
As they sat in the luxurious car heading back to the Jenkins estate, Jacintha felt a sense of relief.
"It feels so good to finally get rid of Donald and Lacie, that sarcastic and mean-spirited couple!"
Lionel caught a glimpse of her radiant smile and could not help but smile himself.
However, Jacintha's smile quickly faded, replaced by a hint of worry as she tentatively asked, "Lionel, now that I've lost my parents, I'm just an orphan. Will you... look down on me?"
Lionel seemed to understand her concerns and responded firmly, "No. If it weren't for Elliot saving me, I might have died at the border long ago. Besides, I'm also an orphan. Neither of us has parents to support, so we can enjoy our time together for a long while before having children."
Hearing that, Jacintha could not help but look forward to their future, wondering what life would bring them next.
Leaning against his arm and resting her head on his shoulder, she said, "Lionel, you saved me."
Lionel kept his eyes on the road, letting her cuddle up to him.
Jacintha continued, "When you took out that card just now, I was so shocked. I thought you would give them all the savings you've been hoarding."
Lionel grinned. "They abused you, failed as parents, and now they wanted to extort money from you. It's too selfish. I couldn't bring myself to give them a single cent."
"Me neither. Luckily, that money didn't go to them."
Suddenly, Jacintha's mischievous eyes sparkled.
In a sweet voice, she continued, "But you'll still need to give me engagement gifts, right? Even though I'm an orphan now, and you don't have to provide any for my family, why don't you just give the engagement gift directly to me?"
Lionel knew what she was up to, and for once, he played along.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
