Elliot could not possibly just ignore his family and go out for drinks.
What kind of man would he be if he abandoned them like that?
Seeing Elliot visibly angry, Nathaniel chuckled. "I can see you're tired. Just trying to crack a joke to lighten the mood, no offense. I know you're not the type to neglect your family."
Elliot remained expressionless. "It wasn't funny. Let's not bring it up again."
Seeing that he had failed to trap Elliot, Nathaniel conceded, "Fair enough."
He masked his feelings and added, "It's getting quite late. Since there's nothing pressing, I'll head back and catch up on sleep."
"Get out of my face right now," Elliot replied, impatiently ushering him out while tidying up the documents on the baby formula incident.
Nathaniel playfully clicked his tongue as he tucked his hands into his pockets, muttering under his breath as he left, "Tossing me aside after using me? You weren't like this when you invited me to work on the case together at the hospital."
Elliot watched his retreating figure, choosing not to respond.
Late at night, Elliot remained alone in the National Investigation Bureau, organizing his thoughts on the case from start to finish before finally leaving for the hospital.
The hospital's inpatient department was quiet during non-working hours.
Elliot tip-toed into the ward to find Sheena still resting in the same position she was in when he left.
Sleeping in this posture was uncomfortable, and he gently lifted her and moved her to the nearby companion bed to sleep.
Just as he was about to tuck her in, Sheena stirred awake, grasping his hand with sleepy eyes.
She murmured softly, "How did it go? Did you find anything?"
Without waiting for Elliot to speak, Sheena expressed her thoughts anxiously, "I couldn't fall asleep in the past hours, thinking over the whole situation. The milk formula factory is handled by your former subordinate in the military. Besides, I personally inspected the formula assurance and security measures. So, the problem shouldn't originate from the factory."

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
