"Mr. Cameron has given orders that no one except himself is allowed to approach Mrs. Jenkins," Jacob said.
He swiftly stepped in front of the group, his tone cold and his demeanor stern, as he scrutinized Billie, the lead bodyguard.
With Elliot gone, Sheena's safety was entirely entrusted to Jacob. Hence, he had to remain vigilant, especially in such a dangerous situation.
Billie's hand approaching the door froze in mid-air as Jacob intervened.
After a few seconds, Billie withdrew his hand and tucked it into his pocket.
Looking displeased at the interruption, Billie turned to Miguel.
"Mr. Cameron, your rules are quite interesting. Even your watchdog doesn't seem to know his place."
Miguel chuckled softly. "Sorry, but my people are only following the rules, not acting on whims. And besides… you haven't forgotten what I said earlier, have you?"
Gradually, Miguel shed his casual demeanor, his tone now carrying a clear warning.
"If your memory is lacking, take it as a reminder that this is my territory. Like me, I believe Mr. Fitzpatrick doesn't appreciate disobedient… 'watchdogs'."
The atmosphere grew tense.
Billie's plans to enter the room were foiled, his confidence wavering under Miguel's implicit threat.
His gaze, hidden behind sunglasses, grew colder, and his hand, concealed in his pocket, clenched into a fist.
With Jacob blocking his way and Miguel exerting pressure, Billie realized he could not act as he intended.
He had to change tactics.
Billie immediately flashed a smile, adopting a humble and gentle tone.
"Apologies for that, Mr. Cameron. I'm just following Mr. Fitzpatrick's orders. If I've overstepped my bounds, please forgive me."
Miguel was in no mood to quarrel with him. He was only concerned about Sheena's safety, still haunted by Elliot's warning.
He waved his hand impatiently and said, "That's enough. I've let you see her as you requested. She's Elliot's wife, and you know how ruthless the National Investigation Bureau is. I only tied her up for leverage. I won't kill her. Tell Mr. Fitzpatrick that if he's serious about this, he should come for a proper discussion and not entertain any other ulterior motives."
With Miguel openly dismissing them, Billie had no choice but to leave.
After all, he was merely a subordinate, a bodyguard.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
