Miguel sank into the sofa and scoffed.
"What's there to negotiate? He wants to see Mrs. Jenkins, and I've shown him, but he never shows his face. He's not showing any intention to cooperate at all."
He poured tea leisurely, and his tone tinged with annoyance as he continued, "Don't forget that the one locked in the basement is Elliot's wife!"
Billie sat across from him, speaking calmly, "Mr. Cameron, there's no need to fuss on these. Sending us is already a significant gesture of goodwill from Mr. Fitzpatrick."
He leaned in closer to Miguel, his hands on the coffee table as he continued, "The National Investigation Bureau has surrounded this rundown mansion for three days now. I bet it's not comfortable having all that heat on you, is it?"
Billie smirked, sounding as if he enjoyed the turn of events.
Underneath the sunglasses, his gaze was sharp and calculating.
Little did he know, the mansion was under Elliot's men's tight control, and no one dared to slack off.
Miguel remained composed and replied, "Seems like you're well-informed about my situation."
Billie raised an eyebrow. "News has spread in the underworld, and perhaps no one dares to come near you anymore. Mr. Fitzpatrick is here to help you out of this mess. Won't you listen?"
"I'm all ears," Miguel replied casually.
Billie took a sip of tea before explaining, "You kidnapped Elliot's woman, hoping for some quick cash. But it's been a while, and they haven't budged. Instead, they've sent reinforcements, showing that your method is rather foolish."
He smirked at Miguel's darkening expression and continued, "Sheena is no ordinary woman, and Elliot isn't afraid. If you want to hit him where it hurts, you'll have to go after his son too. Then, you'll truly have the upper hand."
Billie appeared pleased with himself.
Miguel stared at him, fiddling with the teacup in his hand and chuckling softly.
"I may be in it for the money, but I'm not stupid. Mr. Fitzpatrick thinks highly of himself, even refusing to show up in person, yet now he's stooped so low as to propose that I kidnap Elliot's son as leverage. He plans to use me to do his dirty work, doesn't he?"
Miguel paused for two seconds, feigning to be curious as he tentatively asked, "Why not just come out with it and tell me?"
Billie's expression turned grim instantly.
"That's none of your business. We both have our needs and share the risks. What's there for you to be dissatisfied about?"
Miguel remained silent, gesturing behind him.
Jacob, disguised as Miguel's bodyguard, approached obediently at his command.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
