Mavis sighed in relief, believing that she had overreacted. Those women probably would not be childish enough to mess with her workspace.
While she checked her desk, Diana, who was sitting nearby, kept glancing at her with a gleeful look.
Unaware of anything unusual, Mavis sat down, turned on her computer, and plugged in her USB drive to upload the work she had finished in her study the previous night.
For several minutes, everything seemed normal.
Until… there was a thumping noise from the small drawer under her desk.
Suspicious, Mavis pulled it open.
Inside was a giant, filthy rat, scurrying around and squeaking.
The drawer was a mess, with sticky, foul-smelling liquid all over the place, and the documents inside were chewed up.
Diana watched as Mavis opened the drawer, ready to enjoy the sight of her screaming in fright.
However, Mavis remained calm.
She acted swiftly, grabbed the rat by its long tail, and lifted it out.
Her colleagues stared at her in disbelief.
How could she be so fearless and grab a disgusting rat with her bare hands?
Holding the rat, Mavis stood up and scanned the room, raising her voice.
"Whose pet is this?"
Everyone averted their gazes. No one claimed it.
Mavis, remembering the women who had insulted her along with Diana the day before, approached each one, holding the rat close to their faces and asking individually.
"Is this yours?"
"Ahhh! Keep it away from me! It smells awful! It's not mine!"
"So, it's yours?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
