As the end of the workday approached, Mavis felt torn about whether to head to the underground parking lot or not.
Nathaniel did not want to drive her to work this morning, so he would probably not come to pick her up after work, right?
However, if she did not go to the parking lot and Nathaniel did come, he would definitely be angry if she was not there.
Even though it was their first argument yesterday, the tension between them was suffocating.
Moreover, they still had eleven months left in their contractual marriage, and they had to face each other every day.
After some deliberation, Mavis decided to send him a message, politely asking if he was coming to pick her up and also to apologize.
Everyone had their past, and she knew she had overstepped by mentioning Sheena and his history.
It was definitely not his place to pry since their marriage was just contractual.
She opened her WhatsApp, where the chat with Nathaniel was pinned at the top.
Just as she was about to type, Diana suddenly appeared beside her.
Mavis quickly closed her phone.
Diana did not see anything and mocked, "Tsk. What's the big deal? Were you messaging Tommy? Are you hoping he'll pick you up? What kind of car does he drive?"
Mavis felt irritated and retorted, "I don't know what car he drives. There's nothing between us, and I've told you that before. I don't care if you believe it or not, and I'm done explaining."
Diana rolled her eyes and sashayed back to her desk.
Holding her phone, Mavis hesitated again about messaging Nathaniel.
Just as she was wavering, the manager came over.
"Mavis, can you come to my office? I have some tasks for you to complete tomorrow."
"Sure."
Mavis put down her phone and headed to the office.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
