Sheena silently met his eyes for just a second before looking down again.
Calmly, she corrected him, "I don't know you."
Elliot felt another pang in his heart.
He pressed on, "Then what about the ring on your left hand? You're married. Don't you remember who your husband is?"
Sheena glanced at her left hand, lightly caressing the smooth surface of the ring.
She kept her eyes down and shook her head.
"I've forgotten many things. I don't remember how I got this ring, but it seems like I've worn it for a long time and can't take it off. Maybe… I do have a husband, and he must be very good to me, never making me do housework, keeping my hands so soft and supple. I must have loved him very much to keep wearing this ring."
Nathaniel listened quietly, his expression darkening.
However, he said nothing.
Elliot trembled, tears welling up and blurring his vision, but he stubbornly refused to let them fall.
His lips quivered, his face filled with regret and self-blame.
His broad shoulders shook slightly, feeling helpless as if he had lost something precious.
"He's not good… Not good at all. He failed to protect you, and you've suffered so much."
Sheena countered seriously, "That's not his fault. My husband must be the best in the world! Besides, I'm not suffering at all. Mrs. Snyder treats me very well."
She did not remember anything, yet she still thought her husband was the best…
Elliot did not know whether to feel relieved or heartbroken.
His hand trembled as he instinctively reached out to touch her knee, wanting to hold or even hug her.
However, he feared she would see him as some perverted creep and hate him forever.
Elliot pulled his hand back timidly, swallowing the bitter taste in his throat.
Reluctantly, he introduced himself with care, "Nana, my name is Elliot Jenkins. I'm your husband. We've been married for five years, seven months, and eleven days. We have two five-year-old children. Don't you remember any of that?"
Nathaniel frowned slightly, his face grave as he watched.
Sheena glanced at Nathaniel before bursting into laughter.
"What's going on these days? Both of you claim to be my husband. How many husbands do I have?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
