However, Lionel took all the blame upon himself.
Before Sheena could say anything, he immediately apologized, "I'm sorry, Sheena. It's all my fault. I was too careless and didn't manage to keep an eye on the kids, causing Asher to get hurt. I'm really sorry."
Asher's frail health required extra care and getting injured under his watch made Lionel feel deeply guilty.
He hung his head low, filled with self-blame.
"Elliot, Sheena, this is all my fault. I didn't take good care of Asher."
Sheena was both amused and exasperated by his reaction.
There was no way she would blame her children's mischievousness and injuries on him.
"It's okay, don't worry about it. Kids will be kids…"
Before Sheena could finish, Elliot cut in, "Yes, it's your fault. I've always been fair, rewarding you when you deserve it. Naturally, your mistakes need to be corrected. Since you acknowledge your mistake, drop and give me three hundred push-ups. Let this be a lesson."
Sheena glanced at Elliot.
Was he for real?
"Um, but Lionel…"
However, Lionel was just as stubborn.
He interrupted Sheena, saying, "Sheena, Elliot is right. I didn't watch over them properly. I'll do three hundred push-ups."
With that, Lionel took off his jacket, tossed it to Yosef, and began doing push-ups.
Elliot smirked, his eyes glinting.
If it had not been for Lionel's tattling, Sheena would not have found out about Elliot's irregular eating habits, excessive drinking, and sleepless nights.
She had been so worried she nearly punished him.
Elliot had been waiting for an opportunity to teach Lionel a lesson.
As Lionel grunted through his push-ups, Adora had a sudden idea.
She wriggled in Sheena's arms, trying to get down.
"Mommy, let me down."

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
