Mavis sighed sadly.
It seemed her cake plan was out the window.
Taking a deep breath, she pressed the elevator button to go downstairs.
As the elevator descended, she clasped her hands and silently wished herself a happy birthday before stepping out.
In the underground parking lot, she spotted Nathaniel's sleek Lamborghini with the window half down, revealing his handsome face.
He had a cigarette in his hand as he spoke on the phone, his tone icy.
"Eighty percent of the market share, no less. Warn them that if they dare to seize market share again, the Nicholls Group will not mind pushing them out of the current market forever."
Even though this was his usual demeanor, Mavis could not help but be captivated.
Well, she liked him, no matter how he appeared.
Noticing her by the car, Nathaniel stubbed out his cigarette and ended the call.
Mavis saw him finish his work before opening the car door and getting in.
Once inside, Nathaniel immediately dialed Gabrielle's number.
She picked up quickly.
"Nate, what's up? You never call me unless something's wrong. Did you upset Mae?" Gabrielle's voice came through the speaker.
Because the call was on the speakerphone, Mavis could hear too.
Nathaniel replied, "Enough chatter. It's Mae's birthday today. Hurry home and prepare."
"Ah? So, it's Mae's birthday! I haven't prepared her gift yet. I'll have the jewelry I ordered earlier brought over. It's Mae's first birthday at our place, so we have to make it extra special. I'll call Marius and the others too."

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
