Nathaniel's fingers looked elegant as they moved across the computer screen, pointing out various details.
After a while, he stopped and asked, "Do you understand?"
His sudden question made Mavis nervous.
She stammered, "U-Uh… There's still something I don't quite understand here."
She made up an excuse to ask a question, and surprisingly, Nathaniel patiently explained it.
Something felt off.
She had messed up in the meeting, but Nathaniel was being unexpectedly kind.
Although she was puzzled, she did not dare voice them.
…
After typing up a simple outline for the proposal, Nathaniel noticed her wandering thoughts and tapped her head in mild frustration.
"As payment for teaching you how to write a proposal, you'll accompany me to a dinner tomorrow night as my plus-one."
"Your plus-one?" Mavis repeated, surprised.
Nathaniel raised an eyebrow, "Do you have a problem with that?"
"No. I understand."
Mavis knew she had no right to refuse.
She was, after all, only his wife by agreement.
Before going to bed, Nathaniel sent her a list of attendees for the business dinner and instructed her to memorize some of the names.
As expected, the Lawson Group was among the invitees, with Sheena's name right below Nathaniel's.
The next day, Mavis was called to Nathaniel's office after finishing her work.
Nathaniel immediately took her out of the office, but he did not speak during the entire drive.
Mavis sensed the atmosphere and wisely kept silent, waiting to see what he had planned.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
