Nathaniel's expression in the CEO's office was grim as he listened to the employee's report.
"There's a lot of talk going around the company, saying that Mavis from the logistics department only passed her work assessment because of her relationship with Mr. Chapman. Also, several employees have seen Mavis and Mr. Chapman alone together, laughing and acting quite intimate. Some even say they've seen Mr. Chapman… put his…"
Feeling the tension in the air, the employee's voice grew quieter and more hesitant.
"Continue," Nathaniel's voice was low and dangerous as he lounged back in his chair, taking a drag from his cigarette.
The smoke curled around him, obscuring his expression.
"Just two days ago, someone saw Mr. Chapman put his arm around Mavis's waist. She supposedly pushed him away, blushing, and then…"
The next second, a porcelain ashtray flew past the employee's head, narrowly missing her.
If it had been just an inch closer, her face would have been severely injured.
The ashtray shattered on the floor with a loud crash, and the room instantly fell into ominous silence.
The employee was so terrified that she dared not utter a single word, fearing further wrath.
It was sheer bad luck that Nathaniel had overheard her gossiping and dragged her in for a report.
The office remained quiet for a few moments.
Nathaniel's inscrutable expression left the employee guessing at his thoughts.
After several tense minutes, he finally spoke coldly, "Get out."
The employee sighed in relief and stumbled out of the office.
As soon as she was outside, her legs nearly gave way beneath her.
…
In his office, Nathaniel had the surveillance footage from the logistics department pulled up on his computer.
On his screen, Mavis was diligently working on a report at her desk, with a crumpled ball of paper beside her hand.
All company gossip eventually reached his ears, and Mavis could not possibly be unaware of the rumors circulating.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
