Nathaniel carried her upstairs with a stern look on his face.
Back in the bedroom, he did not say a word.
Instead, he took his usual shower and lay on the bed.
Mavis sat on the couch, glancing at him.
After a moment of hesitation, she finally asked, "I-I'll sleep on the couch tonight. Can you help me get a blanket?"
Her leg hurt too much.
If she were to get the blanket herself and fall, it would only upset him further.
Nathaniel's movements stopped.
He walked over to Mavis, scooped her up, and placed her on the bed.
Mavis quickly sat up, balancing on her toes as she stammered, "I-I haven't showered yet."
She had not had a chance to change out of her dirty clothes all day. They probably still smelled of blood.
"You're so troublesome," Nathaniel muttered, his blue eyes narrowing in irritation.
He picked her up again and carried her to the bathroom.
Even in the bathroom, he did not leave right away.
Mavis was anxious, stuttering, "Um… I-I can do it myself."
"Fine. Wash up and then get in bed," Nathaniel said coldly before leaving the bathroom.
Only then did Mavis dare to undress.
She noticed the wound on her leg. Although it was wrapped in gauze, blood had seeped through.
Fortunately, she had placed a first aid kit in the bathroom, anticipating emergencies.
However, she had not expected it to come in handy so soon.
"Ow… it hurts," she murmured to herself.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
