"Alright, just make sure you don't overwork yourselves. Take care of your health. After my entrance exam is done, I might be going abroad."
Gabrielle casually mentioned her future plans, but Mavis's thoughts had already wandered elsewhere.
After breakfast, the Nicholls family driver dropped Mavis off at the company.
Once inside, she headed toward Nathaniel's office.
She saw Tommy leaving with a stack of files and stopped him.
"Is he in his office right now?"
Tommy nodded. "Mr. Nicholls seems to be in a bad mood. Be careful," he warned before walking away with the files.
Mavis proceeded straight to Nathaniel's office and knocked on the door.
"It's me."
"Come in."
Nathaniel was busy writing a document when Mavis entered, and she wisely stayed quiet, waiting for him to finish his task.
After about ten minutes, Nathaniel finally looked up, furrowing his brow as he asked, "What's the matter?"
His voice had returned to its usual indifference.
Suppressing her discomfort, Mavis smiled and said, "I was worried about your health, so I came to check on you."
"Well, are you done?"
Nathaniel did not look up, keeping his gaze fixed on the documents in front of him with a stern expression.
Mavis was puzzled.
While Nathaniel's attitude yesterday was understandable, she thought he was being unreasonable for giving her the cold treatment two days in a row.
Unable to hold it in any longer, she asked the question weighing her mind.
"When… When you were at the fishing village, did that girl take care of you? What's her name?"
When Mavis asked this question, her heart raced, and her palms clenched nervously as she carefully observed Nathaniel's expression.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
