Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1710

They looked… so similar!

Nathaniel's blue eyes softened as he gazed at Kristen's face on the screen, lost in thought.

"Nate, it's been a while. How are things on your end?"

Kristen's voice brought him back to reality.

"I'm fine," he replied calmly.

"I'm cooking right now. Just give me a moment, and I'll be right with you," Kristen said, placing her phone down to show a view of her in the kitchen.

She wore a moss green dress with a white apron tied around her waist, and her hair was pulled up into a high ponytail.

The sunlight streaming through the window illuminated her figure, casting a graceful silhouette.

Nathaniel found himself staring again.

"Nate? What's the matter? Is there something on my face?" Kristen asked softly, leaning closer to the camera.

Nathaniel snapped out of it, clearing his throat slightly to cover his embarrassment.

"Kristen, there's something I need to tell you. I… have a wife. We've been married in secret for about six months, but it's a contractual marriage with a one-year term."

Kristen's response was a gentle smile, like warm sunshine on a cold winter day.

"Aren't you angry that I lied to you?" he admitted.

Kristen had previously asked him about his marital status, and he denied it.

Kristen shook her head. "Why would I be angry? Everyone has their secrets."

She paused, then added, "I remember now. Your wife is the girl who came to the village by helicopter to take you away, right? She's so beautiful, like a delicate doll."

There was no trace of hostility in Kristen's voice, no hint of jealousy or resentment toward Mavis.

She seemed like a genuinely understanding person.

Nathaniel stayed silent, lost in his thoughts.
