The man ignored Yvette's warning and continued approaching her.
"If you die here, your dad will seek revenge on Giorgio, not me. Then, while they tear each other apart, our actual boss will reap the benefits!"
His laughter grew more maniacal, causing Yvette to back up a few steps.
This man was not actually one of Giorgio's lackeys!
He genuinely intended to kill her.
Yvette realized that reasoning with him was useless as the man would not let her out alive.
She needed to stall for time to devise an escape plan.
Inch by inch, she moved toward the door, her mind racing.
She could not die here!
Omari was waiting for her to go home!
Fixing her gaze on the man, she tried to buy herself more time.
"If you kill me, what do you gain? Your boss will end up with enemies on all sides. Giorgio and my dad are no fools. Don't kid yourself. Real leaders are much smarter than you think."
However, the man just laughed.
"Stalling for time, are you? It's 5 a.m., and all the guards are asleep. No one's coming to rescue you. You can keep dreaming about escaping!"
With that, he lunged at her with the syringe.
Yvette sidestepped his attack, grateful for the physical training Omari insisted she took.
The man was surprised by her agility, and he realized it was no longer time to fool around.
"I was going to have some fun, but it seems I underestimated you."
"Look over there!" Yvette pointed behind him.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson)
The novel is too abusive it spoils the joy of reading it. I hate the punishment part between sheena and Eliot....
