Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 1770

Nathaniel took the cloth from Kristen's hand and wiped the stain on his collar himself.

Kristen noticed and immediately pouted, looking hurt.

Her lips trembled slightly as she stood silently by his side.

When Nathaniel looked up, he saw her distressed face and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Nate, do you think… I'm dirty because I'm sick? Do you think I have germs on my hands?" Kristen's voice wavered.

She even bit her lower lip, looking utterly dejected as her eyes glistened with tears.

Nathaniel sighed. "You're overthinking it. I didn't mean it like that. I just…"

He trailed off, unable to find the right words, and fell silent.

At dinner, Kristen's grandmother, Agatha, came in from outside.

She scrutinized Nathaniel and asked, "Young man, when did you get here? How long have you known Kristen?"

Kristen quickly explained, "Grandma, do you remember I told you about the man I saved by the shore? It's him. He heard you were ill and came to check on you."

Agatha coughed and thumped her cane on the floor with a resounding thud.

"Kristen, people like us shouldn't waste our feelings on those above our status."

Nathaniel chimed in, "Kristen and I are friends. Friends help each other out. Please don't worry, I won't hurt her."

However, Agatha scoffed at his words. "City folks are good at saying pretty things. Kristen, have you forgotten what happened to Samantha? She believed a city man's lies and was left heartbroken!"

Sensing the tension at the table, Kristen quickly tried to change the subject by placing a drumstick on Agatha's plate.

"Grandma, I'll take him outside to bring in the fishing nets. Enjoy your meal."

Kristen led Nathaniel outside, and they walked to the beach.
